Its totally a washing machine. Right? That's what I've always called it.
I do for the most part, but I must admit I forget about loads of laundry...a lot. But it's not that it smells or anything it's just making weird marks on clothing like grease stains almost.

maybe it's like... A washing machine/ a washer and dryer. I always spell how I speak so I really don't know! I say washer machine lol...this is pretty confusing
Damn! I was all prepared to tell you how to clean your front loader.
Haha me too!
Breastmilk is obvs the best way to do it..but if you don't have spaghetti jars of the stuff laying around, I would use vinegar...
Quick google search tells me:
Use the hottest setting on your washer and pour 4cups of vinegar in it..let it run and agitate. Then pull the top open and let it soak for an hour. Then run several rinses until vinegar is gone. Use plain water to wipe off any residue on the agitator, followed by vinegar to kill any icks on it.
the detergent/dispenser trays are removable (usually)..wash those in the sink separately. run hot washes with a cup of vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser. then rinse until vinegar is gone. the hardest part for front load is the rubber seal- again, use vinegar to wipe down all the cracks and crevices and make sure it completely dries. always leave the door open when not in use!
If you have marks on your clothes, get it serviced. Sometimes it's hard for the technician to find the source. You can clean your washer with vinegar on hot water, but my favorite is the affresh tabs. They smell great and do a good job. It is washing machine, but most people call it washer. Washers and dishwashers should be cleaned monthly --especially if you have hard water and a lot of calcium buildup.
@txmom13 is right they make cleaning products for your washer. The affresh tabs are great but you can use vinegar. I do advise you to use hot water! And I would also only do it on a medium or small load. If the washer is leaving marks please get it serviced that is not something that can just be cleaned.
Also it is totally a washing machine and the. A washer or dryer!
I am pretty crunchy but I bleach the living hell out of my front loader. Bleach is actually the manufacturer recommended way to clean our washer and it works like a charm. I do it more than it tells me to because #solidfoodpoop
I use this. It has two purposes- to tell you if your water is hot enough to dissolve the detergent (because there is a wax ring that needs to melt to allow the cleaner to come out) and to clean your dishwasher (and the pump) of calcium buildup which can lead to damage.
Vinegar was also a recommendation my DH made frequently.
I used vinegar and baking soda to clean my carpets this morning. I also add baking soda to my towels to help with odors. (If they were used for something other than drying off after a shower or left wet in a ball somewhere and have a mildew smell.)
vinegar to clean the washer and dishwasher. for both run an empty load on hot with a few cups of vinegar added.
to go a step further, regularly add vinegar to every load of clothes and dishes. use vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser. the vinegar acts like fabric softener and your clothes do not smell like vinegar when dried. in the dishwasher put vinegar in the jet-dry dispenser and it keeps your dishes clean, shiny, and spot-free.
Unless you're using dishwashing soap made with castile soap. You should never add an acid to castile soap. I read it on the internet, so it must be true.
also, I read dishwasher as "dryer" in the first line and I was like, "how do you put vinegar in your dryer?!"
huh. i learn something new all the time! i don't use a dishwashing soap with castile soap but i've mixed dr bronners into my vinegar cleaning solution and added vinegar and dr bronners to the toilet. must research more!
I'm going to be honest, I read it in a blog. Some lady was freaking out because she made some kind of mixture for her dishwasher with castile and vinegar and all her dishes came out with a white film on them. Then she updated saying she found out apparently you're not supposed to do that.
from what i understand, the vinegar is supposed to remove the film....but it takes LOTS #notworthit.
i experimented with home made dishwashing detergent...(until i found the multiple multiple multiple people saying don't do it, there are no good home made versions)...and what i read was that it has something to do with the washing soda that is building up on the dishes. you use vinegar like jet-dry to clean it off.... it did not work well for me, but when i re-rinsed my dishes, i used vinegar to wash them and the film came off.
