I am taking off 2 weeks before and 13 weeks after, I am lucky that we live in NJ right now bc the state offers great short term disability on top of the short term I pay for with work. DH is probably taking off 2 weeks. Once I go back I will be putting in my notice a month later bc we will be moving. So much planning and stress with a newborn!
My plan is to work up until the week of my due date, and then take 12 weeks. I have 7 days of PTO saved up, and after a two week waiting period I get 60% of my pay for 6 weeks through STD. The rest is unpaid.
4 months. Some of it at full pay but most at 60%. My employer allows up to a year of leave but you have to use your saved time if you want to get paid.
I'm planning on taking the full 18 weeks of leave I'm offered through my job along with 3 weeks of saved vacation I'll have at that point, which will put me close to the end of March if I deliver around my due date. I'm contemplating adding some additional unpaid time at the end to take me to a full six months, but haven't decided for sure yet.

OP, another thing I did is budget out how much money we will loose if I take off 2 weeks before my due date or 4 weeks.

I am considering the full 12 weeks but we're moving a month before baby is born and will have that mortgage plus the mortgage on our old house until it sells.
So... I have 5 weeks pd short term disbaility thru work and only about 3 weeks PTO time which will only take me to 8 weeks. I don't know if we can afford for me to take 4 weeks unpaid We've been saving like crazy though so we'll see. We might be able to swing 2 weeks unpaid.
Self employed and lots of volunteer work so... I don't know. I plan on taking a break from tutoring until it's time for final exams. So about six weeks. Then there's Christmas break and I haven't decided how much I'll tutor spring semester. I need to figure out if the school will let me bring the baby with me. I'm an independent contractor operating on campus so I'm not sure what's allowable. I'm not taking time off from my volunteer work really. And as far as writing goes... I'm just going to ease back into it. No pressure. No expectations. But in general, I won't be working half as much as before.
16 weeks. My employer allows up to six months but we do not have STD or separate maternity leave so I only get paid based on leave I've accrued. The way things look right now I will be taking 8 weeks of unpaid leave. DD is 18 months old so I haven't had much time to accrue leave. DH will take a month off. I will work until my due date.
I'm taking 12 weeks off. Unfortunately none of it's paid as I work 20 hours a week and don't qualify for benefits (plus I've been there under a year). But I can't complain because my hourly rate, work hours and schedule are great, so it is what it is. It's definitely a big hit to our savings, but it's part of the sacrifice of working part time.

I am SO jealous of all the Canadians!! I'll be taking 15 weeks. 6 will be partial pay under STD and the rest will be unpaid. DH's company gives him 4 weeks paid. Not sure if we'll overlap of if he'll stay home after my 15 weeks. Probably will depend on how we do with the daycare's wait list.
DH and I have been married 3+ years. This is our first PG, and we are thrilled!
Can't wait to meet our baby BOY, Mateo in October!!
I manage a small medical practice. I get 4 weeks, unpaid. Then back to work. A lot of you ladies are very lucky to be able to take so much time! I'll cherish every second of those 4 weeks!
