I grew up in a small town, but since then DH and I have moved away and so I have been kind of bad about keeping in touch with my friends from back home. This pregnancy DH and I have been really bad about telling people; we just haven't felt like announcing it to the whole world I guess. However I have now been called by two used-to-be close friends to congratulate me after they heard through the grape vine about the pregnancy. I feel so bad for not telling them sooner but I just never see them!
My sister just sent me a message asking if I had any suggestions or theme ideas for my baby shower. I told her whatever she picks will be awesome! Her response: "Even if the theme I pick is zombie twins?"
Confession: I know she was kidding, but I secretly think a zombie twin baby shower would be freaking cool!

My mom and step dad are talking about moving back to Texas from NC. Of 4 kids, I am the only one who lives here but I don't feel bad for my siblings. They have had my parents close to the for 12 years and they rarely go see them now that they are out of college and don't need money or help with things. I am super close with my mom and talk to her at least once a week. I think she should be close to the kid that wants to see them more often.
Plus if she moves back it will make my other siblings grow up and come to Texas more than every 10 years to see their/our dad and grandparents that they have been ignoring.
I have another confession... I picked up some sushi as a treat for my husband and I to share when he gets home from closing tonight, but I ate it all on the commute home. Every bite. Sorry honey!
Another. I am angry with DH today. Monday is our anniversary (14 years), and this will be the last opportunity we have to go away just the two of us for another few years. I've dropped a lot of hints about places we could go, going as far as linking hotel/city information to his Facebook page with the note "anniversary weekend??".
Annnnnnndddd.... nada. Nothing. He never responded. When I brought it up the other day, he's just too busy at work to get away. But yet he's talking about taking a week off to go visit his grandmother. Thanks, honey. I love you too.
I should not be mad. He really is very busy at work, and has worked for 12 days straight, many 10-12 hour days, going to work dinners, and traveling out of town. But I still feel like he should make time for us too. I'm such a needy bitch.
Maybe he's planning a surprise?

My thought as well. Fingers crossed, you needy bitch :P
I get a little too angry when I see people selling their used baby stuff (cribs, strollers, etc) online for the same price as buying a new one.
So today on a Facebook swap group, this lady was asking $150. for a glider that I could buy new on Amazon for $130. I made a slightly rude comment about it and offered her $50. No response and it's still for sale. Huh, imagine that.
I have decided to make it my personal mission to point out the ridiculousness of these types of sellers. Seems like there's a lot of folks trying to scam new Mamas out there.
I am waiting until my children go to bed and then I am ordering Thai food.
Then I'm baking brownies.
And putting on Parks and Rec and doing nothing all evening, even though the house is a mess, I need to do laundry, and I have school work that I need to finish.
I like to pick my nail polish off. If it's gel/shellac, even better and more fun to just peel right off. Manicure technicians always scold me and I pretend I don't know what I'm doing is bad. I'm a weirdo! :-bd
@lizzielu82 - YES. I get such satisfaction when I peel off a big chunk. I confess that I also like peeling split ends. I know it's terrible for my hair, but it's fun.
I remembered my FFFC in the bath last night and forgot to post it! It's not even particularly juicy but I feel like I need to get it off my chest.
I have a friend from the gym who can be a little annoying. She's nice enough, but she's irritating and there's a lot of people that don't really like her. Well this week she texted me on Wednedsay afternoon and I didn't text her back for a good 24 hours (not the norm for me) simply because I didn't feel like it. I told her I had left my phone at work and it had died. Total lie.
I have another this morning! I volunteered to make strawberry cream cheese cupcakes for BIL and SIL's engagement party tonight. Mainly because I've been craving them!! DH and I just went to breakfast together. After, he wanted to drop me off at the grocery store to get the stuff needed to make them. I totally lied and said that the grocery store doesn't carry strawberry cake mix and I needed to go to Target to get it. I'm now shopping in the maternity section. I'm so selfish!!
I found a 20oz Diet Coke with my name on it and drank it. DH was horrified that I drank so much caffeine. He drinks at least one small pot of coffee a day.
I'm really hoping the pool party I'm taking the girls to later is rained out. Not looking forward to wearing my mat suit in front of strangers.
