Wal mart has onesies for $3.00.    I did buy some camo bibs for $8 from a flea market.     My child will not have expensive clothes....unless someone else buys them as a gift.     ;)

I did splurge and buy a World of Warcraft onesie that was $20 with shipping.....so I guess maybe I should put my foot in my mouth a tad.......I would love to buy a cute little pair of dr. martens boots for him too......but I don't think I will be dishing out $65 for those.

Also...........I can't remember if I put deoderant on this morning.........

    :-/
I might need to check out The Walmart. Honestly, I keep reading how everyone gets clothes for their showers so I've been resistant buying anything and hoping the rumors are right (am I the only person who is actually excited about people buying clothes for their shower?)

The only thing we might splurge on are Seahawks onesies (like <$30). I can't even bring myself to buying them baby jerseys because they are so expensive and will grow out of  them so fast.

  • I like to pick my nail polish off. If it's gel/shellac, even better and more fun to just peel right off. Manicure technicians always scold me and I pretend I don't know what I'm doing is bad. I'm a weirdo!  :-bd

+1 to the weirdo group. I always pick my gel/shellac off. It's a serious problem. Once I see a corner peeling, all bets are off and I spend the next thirty minutes peeling it all off. It's actually better for us while pregnant so we don't have to use the acetone remover. Or so I tell myself...

  • @MalachiteDrake yeah,  I am none too concerned about how others feel about my shower and they way I am doing it.    I am trying to be as respectful and undemanding as I can.....but all in all,  I have been to enough baby showers to see what others find is acceptable in my area and what isn't.  People also know that they don't have to do these extra things if they don't want.   I am not one to ask for anything, material wise, or help wise......so I think people will actually be quite surprised that I am asking for these things.

If that earns me a front row seat in Hell with you,  then so be it !!!

I got married at the JP in a $29 victoria secret sundress and we all ate at a local buffet restaurant after the "ceremony"   I didn't have a bridal shower, and expected no gifts when we had our "reception" a month later.      This helps me justify being a tad greedy when it comes to the baby shower.  :)

I'm going to be cloth diapering, and my baby will be out in public with just a diaper and matching t shirt when it's hot out. These are the prints I have so far. Too cute to be hidden away!
Ahh is that the Chaplin print? Mine is supposed to come today! :)
My Chaplin is on the way too!

My FFFC is that I can't stop giving myself breast exams. My doctor just gave me one a week and a half ago but I'm so paranoid. I'm praying my mom doesn't have the breast cancer gene and maybe that will calm me down a little bit, we don't find out for like 3 more weeks.

I'm mad I never got a mammogram and now I can't get one until after I have the baby. I honestly didn't think she had the gene, I didn't even think about it so I didn't worry so much about it. Now I can't stop thinking about it and touching my boobs to the point where they hurt.

I'm so sorry about your mom @Becks517‌ my mom is fighting triple negative breast cancer currently and it's such a roller coaster. I get angry that she didn't just get regular breast cancer, nope, she had to get the really shitty kind that's really aggressive and only 5-10% of people get. I think about cancer and breast cancer so much, it never stops.

@Kristy774 - My mom (who is 49) was diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks ago, and this last Tuesday they told her it was triple negative breast cancer. They sent her DNA test to see if she has the BRCA gene mutation (she was told it was likely that she did). There are no words to describe how scared I am not only about losing her, but if she's positive for the gene mutation then maybe I am. I am so sorry you are going through this. I hope your mom gets some answers soon. I am trying really hard to stay positive until we have more answers/a prognosis. My mom wants a double mastectomy no matter what the gene test shows, so I hope and pray that it was caught in time before it traveled outside her breast.

On a lighter note, my FFFC is that I hate camo on babies (sorry @mander82). My husband and his dad both hunt, so I can see his dad or other family members getting baby camo outfits. Not a fan.

I am so sorry. Does breast cancer run in your family? We don't know a lot about the history in our family because my grandmother was adopted and she committed suicide when my mom was a child, so they gave my mom 50/50 odds of having the gene. I'm wondering why they told your mom she probably has it.....my moms didn't start out as triple negative, it was a different kind of breast cancer originally, then about 3 years after the BC, she got it in her neck, and that's when it turned to triple negative BC. I was told that if my mom has it, I then have a 50/50 chance of having it.

PM me anytime. Hugs to you.
