I love me a power snatch, it's those damn squat snatches that I no likey.
Today's wod was front squats and bench presses for strength, 8x3 for the fs and 3x10 for the presses, both at 70% 1RM. WOD was 2 rounds of 60 seconds each: calorie row, weighted pull-up, db presses, burpees. 60 seconds rest between moves, max effort each movement.
We just started a strength cycle this week. Been doing lots of lifting. Yesterday was a wod with dead lifts and power cleans and I loved it. Power cleans feel so easy when doing them immediately after heavy dead lifts!
It wasn't bad, the built in rest made it bearable. Nothing like the crazy 4th of July wod we did, I'll have to find it and copy to you, it was a hero wod and I pulled a DNF

Hero WODs can break you off!! I did my first full murph on Memorial Day, friggin 1:02. We do it twice a year and next time my goal is a sub 1 hr #pathetic

Seriously an amazing guy! I'm glad y'all did his WOD, some people whine that there are too many hero WODs but I love hearing all of the stories.
Me too! Hero wods are the best. I think it sucks that we have to have so many hero wods, because each represents the life of a real hero who is no longer with us. One of our owners is incredibly patriotic, so we honor every holiday with hero wods and always take a moment of silence after hearing their story before we start the work. We live right by Hill AFB so have a lot of military in the box.
