Baby Names - Thought we had put the issue to rest...

Baby name board topics had been quiet for awhile but I need help now too :-/

So DH and I came up with our top three names and were going to wait to meet her before we decide. We are both good with that. BUT now I think I might be sick of my three names because I keep turning them over in my head and/or because maybe I just don't like them anymore. I told DH this and he was like okay. Okay? sooooo.... whatcha thinking then? No help from him.

So our top three are:

Emma

Ayla

Sophia

I don't care if names are popular but I don't want trendy. I love Arya but it is trendy right now with Game of Thrones and that is not my style :-p I also love names for girls that start and end in a vowel. Our last name begins with an L. We are thinking Rose or Sophia for a middle name (if Sophia isn't our choice) or Margaret after his grandmother.

Thoughts? Stick with these? Other suggestions?

I actually like Emma Margaret. I think using Margaret turns the trendiness down a touch!

I can't decide between Emma or Sophia. Both are great choices and although popular, I would argue they are timeless rather than trendy. Never heard Ayla before so that would be my bottom choice. I also like Margaret as the middle name for these choices, because it sounds nice and I love when middle names actually have meaning rather than just chosen because they sound pretty. Margaret sounds pretty AND is a family name!

I have an Emma Rose so obviously that is my first choice. But I think Sophia and Ayla are beautiful too, you can't go wrong with any of these.

I like this one too. I don't think of Emma as being particularly trendy just popular. I am totally fine with that. Funny thing is that my husband is the one who doesn't care for Margaret. He was very close with his Gram who recently passed away and I just loved her spunk. I kind of want to use it in hopes our baby gets some of her zest for life if that makes sense.

I like them all. DS1 and DS2 have both had atleast 1-2 Emma and Sophia in every class they've been in, so they're more popular than I like. I've hear Ayla pronounced as Eye-la before too.

I love the names Emma and Sophia, but I am not going to lie--I am a teacher and I have a billion Emmas and Sophias/Sophies every year. I don't know if tha tis a concern for you. I like Emma better than Sophia. I LOVE the name Margaret. I am not too fond of Ayla, mainly because of Clan of the Cave Bear. I don't know if you've read these books or not--she's not a bad character, but it just reminds me of caveman sexy time...and there is supposed to be a lifetime series or movie being made of these books. Just something to consider!

Sooo. I was gonna say to just use Isla if you wanted it pronounced 'eye-lah' but you dont so nevermind!

Yeah I am a teacher too and I have never had a Sophia! I have had Emmas but like I said it doesn't bother me. My name is Sarah and it was the most popular name the year I was born. Never bothered me. I love my name.
