@elf828, DH asks me about the drinking thing occasionally too. It's not in a mean way, just being cautious. And we are both always curious about her weight, just because. Hopefully your H wasn't trying to insinuate anything by his comments.
So I'm reading that daycare RSO thread. Yikes. I'm only on page 3, so I may be there a while if it stays slow at work. I don't know if I'll be able to read the whole thing, but I'm going to try!
Yeah, it's totes okay to have an in-home DC with a RSO because he won't be home. It's not like he was filming his previous victims or anything .. Oh wait. [-X

@elf828 - I'd assume his weight comment is unrelated to the rest. H was always curious to see how big LO is getting. Sorry he's making you feel defensive about your choices, it doesn't sound like you're doing anything "wrong" at all.
'm feeling weird about something. I have maybe two glasses of wine three nights a week. I keep track of when I'm pumping/feeding with respect to when I've had a drink, and I have always kept in mind that if I'm fine to drive I'm fine to nurse/pump. I have had more than that amount twice (date nights) and I have not pumped/saved milk on those nights. MH has asked me about drinking/nursing a couple times and I've answered him and it hasn't been an issue.
Last night we were talking about BFing and he asked how long I wanted to go. I said that as long as she's healthy and growing and that I can do it, I'd like to continue. Fine. Then he asked to see data/research on drinking while BFing because he's never heard of breastfeeding moms drinking every night (his sample size is, like, 2 I think). I pointed out that I don't actually drink every night - far from it - and that if he wanted to talk about something he should just say it. He kind of backed off but just said he wanted to do some research. I sent him the kellymom page on alcohol and breastfeeding and he didn't comment on it. Later in the night I mentioned that LO's 6mo appt is next week and he said he's interested in seeing how much she weighs. Am I being paranoid/sensitive or is he being passive-aggressive? I don't feel like having a whole big fight about it with him if he's not bringing it up and was satisfied with the kellymom info. I really don't think I'm doing anything wrong and don't want to seem defensive by bringing it up. I just feel weird and I feel like if her weight isn't good next week I'm going to get blamed.
This turned into a novel. What do you guys think?
@elf828 - first off, I agree that you're not doing anything wrong. Plenty of BFing moms enjoy cocktails safely and in moderation.
But I do think he's obviously concerned and dancing around the subject. (As most people do when alcohol is involved.) I think you did the right thing by linking him articles. If it comes up again, I'd encourage him to be honest and ask questions - knowledge is power in this situation I think.
I don't know if the weight thing is related to the wine thing, but it can't hurt to just ask him. He may have not even put the two and two together.
Continuation from yesterday - @MissDemeanor I turn 33 next friday, not this week. You too, or this week?
tags: @DesirreK HOORAY for another interview! I second JCP or AT for suits. AT would be better if you're a mismatch top/bottom size. JCP for sets.
@Meghan14 that sucks about your tampons, but Hi-Five on the reference. I luff you!
Me:
1. Last night A was STARVING and devoured a crap-ton of oatmeal. Today I expect him to have an awesome poop at daycare.
2. I have had a migraine almost every day since starting the NuvaRing - Dr. Google said this is normal (fuck that) and that it could put me at higher risk for blood clots. I guess I'm moving on to a different birth control. Dammit!
3. I told our therapy coordinator I wanted to switch therapists in August because ours doesn't have A's best interests in mind. Turns out there's only 1 other part time person that goes to our area and she works under our crappy therapist. (She's a supervisor, wtf?) She would still do our evals and stuff, so we couldn't 100% get rid of her. I'm pissed. I asked our coordinator to give me my options and let me know.
The end.
@KatyBriggs I'm the 25th. For a second I thought I found my birthday twin. I've never met anyone with the same birthday. Personally, I think you should get a nice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Who needs plans other than that?
@elf828 I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I have a beer or a glass of wine about 3 nights a week and I allow myself 2 on the weekends. I feel fine about it since LO STTN and I have at least 8 hours before I have to feed her again. My H asked about it too. We confirmed with the pedi that it was ok.
We moved LO to his own room and crib last night (from co sleeping) and he did great. Woke up at 4:30 as usual, ate and went back to sleep. It's bitter sweet, and the terrible part of me is like "he didn't even miss me?"

@MissDemeanor were you bedsharing or co-sleeping? I'm curious how you made the transition to his own room and crib.
My random for the day. I've been having tons of sinus issues for the past several months. I found out this morning I need sinus surgery and a septoplasty. I want the sinus issues gone, but now I'm worried about the surgery and recovery.
Everyone is constantly talking about their exersaucers and it makes me wish we had gotten one of those instead of the rainforest jumperoo. I don't think the toys on it are entertaining enough since LO can't really "jump" yet. Plus having a giant red frog constantly staring at me is giving me the creeps.
We have a jumperoo also and at first Alex didn't know what to do, now he loves it. I swear sometimes it looks like he's river dancing.

@ahare2009 we have an arms reach co sleeper, but generally Reece would sleep in bed with me. But lately we've been sleeping downstairs in the guest room where it's cool. My BIL moved in with us, and needed that room, so it kind of seemed like a good time to move Reece.
A week or two ago I started spending more time with him in his room, so it would be familiar to him. I'd try to get him to sleep there for one nap, and then both.
But last night, he fell asleep after nursing, and we just picked him up and put him in his crib. And, by some miracle, he was fine!! After he ate I thought he'd want to cuddle and go back to sleep, but he was super restless. I lout him back in the crib, and he went right back to sleep. I guess he just likes his own space?
But obviously I've jinxed it by even talking about it.

fingers crossed he continues sleeping well in his crib.
DS slept in his crib for a brief amount of time when he was a month old, but then he got a cold and moved into our room, then bed. Now DH is sleeping in the guest room and Alex and I have the king size bed to ourselves. I need to move him out though. Pretty much the only way he falls to sleep is nursing while we are in bed.
@ahare2009 - Oh, that sucks. But I know there's a couple mommas who have been on lifting restriction, and other such baby-restrictions around here. I think it just requires help from other people. Hopefully there's such a person(s) in your life that can lend a hand temporarily during the healing process.
I'd clarify with your doctor if the lifting restriction is to keep you from bending over specifically. Like picking baby up off floor/from jumperoo is a no-no, but perhaps a more lateral move - like from changing table to crib - wouldn't be as big of an issue? How long will your lifting restriction be?
I think just a week. I guess it is due to the pressure you get in your head while lifting/carrying. I just talked to my mom and luckily she doesn't go back to work until the Monday after my surgery (on a Thursday), so she can come stay with us.
I'm home from the eye doctor. I have to go to a specialist tomorrow because it's not just allergy eyes and the minute I said "breastfeeding" this eye dr basically refused to talk to me anymore. So there's that. There better be a way to treat this that doesn't interfere with bf because I'm not ready to stop.
I ugly cried in the car on the way home.
And I forgot my wallet so I couldn't stop for groceries and gas.
WTF FB!! It keeps trying to have me Friend my old boss to fired me when I told her I was pregnant. Litterally, no congradulations or anything. Just an 'oh, well today is your last day, please gather your things.'
I wish that woman a fiery death after what she did to soo many of my friends and coworkers too.
@penguin173 it was a small company(read exempt) and I was a contract worker. She decided to not renew my contract (after renewing it every quarter no problem) right then and there. It was not illegal at all. MT is also a right to work state, which means anyone can get fired without a reason. She also fired someone for showing up to work late. She had called 30 min before she was to be there because she had been in an accident and got transported by EMS (She was fine, it's was just precautionary). If she felt someone looked at her wrong, she would flip out and punish you with unrealistic deadlines on projects that were no where near your job description.
Thanks guise. I mean, I know I'm looking rough -- there's only so much that under eye concealer can do!
And it's motivation for me to do something AWESOME with my hair on Thursday. I need ideas. If I had a pic of my hair down, I'd post it, but I wear my hair up 100% of the time. It's long and curly, but thin and looking stringy now. I want to go shoulder length and layered - I'm hoping that cutting it shorter will give me some much needed volume.
But I have NO idea on colors or highlights. Like I don't even know what to ask for. Highlights? Low lights? Full color?
@codypup, do you plan on wearing it down with the new style? I think highlights or full colou. But depending how you want to style your hair will change how different ones look.
Also to Consider if you need/want to maintain them. Some highlights and colours look great growing out, some not so much.
So I've officially turned down the job I was offered. Yes, it's been dragging on for months! But we're not going to Florida either. We're going to take some time to work on the house, and perhaps buy another rental property. I might look for something part time for extra $. Seems like a crazy departure I know. But we decided that both of us being home with Reece is an amazing opportunity, and we'll never get time off like this again.

@cattucino - I'd like to wear it down more often, but I have to wear it up at work. So the color will need to look good for both styles. Maybe a full color is the way to go? I do have some greys that could be covered up...
This is a pic for color. I just want it shinier and brighter, if that makes any sense:
@DesirreK How long have you waited on your dog not drinking out of anything but the john? My pug will go through phases, and it takes 3 days before she realizes she isn't going to 'win'. Your dog will not die from not drinking, he will eventually get thirsty and drink water from his normal place. Tough love. I have never had an animal yet that will not get to a point and just drink or eat what is in front of them(excluding serious medical reasons) even if they prefer something else.
@KatyBriggs : so sorry about the migraines. They are the worst! Even sorrier about your assigned councilor. WTF? How is there only 1 in your area? It's a major population center, surrounded on 3 sides by other major population centers? If things don't improve soon, PM me. After 9 years in education, I know people who probably know people. They might be able to put you in contact with someone who can help you find a solution.
edit: ^ Irrelevant!!!! So excited for you! YAY!!!!
@ShellBell3845 : So sorry you are having such a rough day. (((HUGS))) to you.
@Codypup : WTF is wrong with people? I hope an awesome haircut helps you feel better. Layers sound cute!
@Misdemeanor : YAY for decisions. That sounds like a great plan.
Now I can't remember who posted about toliet water. Oh well. When we first got the cat the dog would insist on drinking her water, the cat his. They were each convinced the other was getting something magically better. Now she prefers what's left in the tub to her dish. She sits on the ledge and waits for our showers to be done and then immediately hops right in. No help to you I know, but it's cute so I wanted to share.
I was just reading all your reactions here about the RSO (took me a minute to figure that out) and DC. I was thinking of checking that out next, when I saw you guys say it was deleted. Probably for the best. It would have upset me I'm sure. Can someone please explain the t-shirt thing though?
Is it just me or does it feel like a lot of people are MIA from the board lately? I mean, I realize people have lives (although clearly I am not one of those people lately), but I feel like people are disappearing! Or maybe I'm over thinking it because I'm bored.
Penguin I know I have not been posting, barely lurking. Life is busy! Hugs guys! I admit I only read like 1/6 of the Randoms, so hugs for all, whatever you are going through good or bad.
(That should cover my bases, right? )
Also, did the FIL RSO lady ever come back to chime in? I made it a few pages in but got disinterested when the OP wasn't coming back..
So my dog has exercise induced collapse syndrome (eic) and he's currently having an episode at the park. He can't even get up from laying down...now it's raining and LO is getting impatient. I've been sitting here for 20 mins waiting for him to be able to walk. Sigh.
I will be calling the Dr. about this 1st thing in the am, but in the meantime, I'll ask Dr. Bump.
I feel like a few weeks ago someone posted a similar pic and Dr. Bump's consensus was HFM. He has red marks that look like bug bites on his arm, head under his hair line, and leg. They've developed in the last 2 hours.
He doesn't have a fever, but naps have been a struggle today. He's been fussy, but I don't know if that indicates sick or just missed sleep.
My gut is saying this is something, but no need to rush to urgent care right now, pedi call in the am will do. Thoughts?

crappy boss, but AMAZiNG pay and hours.
that is never an acceptable comment to make to people (unless they are your closest of friends). 'It looks like you could use a coffee.' Is maybe ok.

Your coloring is similar to mine and I love to go with a copper tone. Plus it's a good look for fall.
