So, now that we're feeling movement ...

When will your SO be able to feel it?! I had a little extra padding before baby ... but I'll put my hand there when I feel her moving around and I swear I can feel it on my hand! DH has tried a couple times and says he feels nothing and it's probably b/c I feel it on the inside that I think I can feel it on the outside. I know it's still pretty early so I'm not freaking out, just curious. :)

  • This weekend we felt our first big kicks too (I've been feeling them inside for about a week now).  The only way DH was able to feel is if I laid on my back on the bed with my legs sort of hanging off the side (to stretch my belly out).  It made everything flatter/harder and way easier to feel.

Good luck!!  They only get stronger from here :)
  • I think with dd her dad was able to feel her around 24-25 weeks, this round so could feel him about 17-18 weeks. But everyone is different.
  • I felt the baby on the outside for the first time on 6/13 and DH felt it kick on 6/14 (I only remember those dates bc of Friday the 13th).  The baby was pretty active when he felt him, but it did take a few times.  I would say, "Did you feel that??"  And he'd be like "No."  Then baby gave a big kick and he felt it.  He definitely had his hand on my belly for probably 20-30 minutes while we watched a show, so it took a while.

  • DH has felt it once about a week ago.  Felt a little "pop" but hasn't been able to feel it since.  Although I can.  I think since I can feel it on the inside I know what I'm feeling on the outside is baby.

Although yesterday this kid kicked me so hard while his hand was on my belly and he still didn't feel it.  Dude.

Hopefully it'll be consistent in a few weeks!
I am in love w/ the cat in your siggy I could literally just sit here all day and watch it!

Yeah, DH isn't very patient.  I'll be all, "Baby's kicking!" and he'll put his hand on my belly but after a few minutes gives up.  And then, of course, the baby kicks.
Yeah, my DH isn't either.  I said that he had to be patient and suggested we watch tv in bed to distract him, LOL!

DS was a pro at this. It was so bad, I would grab DH's hand and stick it on my belly when I wanted DS to calm down (when I was trying to sleep or something). It worked about 1/2 the time.

Dh has been able to feel on my for about a week and a half. Before bed each night we lay and he tries to feel three kicks. Happens pretty quick usually! This weekend was fun in that I told him to just look at my bare stomach and he was able to SEE it move. Not a foot or anything, more like an earthquake tremor.

Ugh, my husband is the same way! I could literally SEE my stomach "blip" from the outside and he still insisted he couldn't feel it. He finally felt something on Friday night but his lack of excitement was a huge bummer for me.

  • I started feeling kicks at 19 weeks - which seemed so early but I'll take it. :) DH started feeling them at the 21 or so week mark. I don't have a lot of padding in my stomach/uterus area so that might help - all my fat seems to sit on my hips. :P

  • DH was able to feel our sweet pea a week ago. DH couldn't feel the all the salsa dancing the baby was doing on my bladder ....but now baby is higher so he can definitely feel the kicks now :-)

  • DH has been able to feel kicks since at least week 18 I think. It took patience and a lot of his hand down my pants though. He feels our little man moveore consistently now.

Oh, and last week we started to visibly see him kicking and punching! We were in bed and I had my shirt up (to let cocoa butter soak in). At one point he started freaking out because the sight of my belly convulsing with the kicks was so weird.:)

  • We were able to feel LO on the outside since about 20 or 21 weeks. His kicks are really hard though and he LOVES to roll his feet as hard as he can against my uterus so I feel him on the outside quite frequently. Last week at 23 week I was able to feel him switching positions from the outside which was pretty cool.
  • It took a few weeks for us. I started feeling it between weeks 19 and 20, but DH wasn't able to feel it until a week and a half ago, when I was just shy of 24 weeks. It's still pretty inconsistent so the couple of times he has felt it, it's only been a kick or 2.

SO has been able to feel it for a few weeks now. Last night the baby was moving around - not kicking but rolling maybe? Anyway, SO felt it and got super creeped out. He likes feeling the kicks, but I guess the rolls were too much :P
  • This wee gal is quite the active one! My husband can feel her squirming and kicking when we're cuddled up on the couch watching TV. His leg was touching my belly a couple of weeks ago and he just kept looking at me weird until I asked if he could feel her. I guess he thought I just had crazy gas up to that point because with the next big kick he squealed HOLY SHIT! :))

Same! The first time DH felt movement, I was expecting sparkles in his eyes! Nope. It freaks him out a little bit. But I still make him put his hand on my belly when she's really moving. Can't wait till he feels a "roll over" and gets really freaked out :))

  • I felt movement for the first time at 17w2d, DH felt it at 18w1d.

There are still times when he can't feel what I feel, but he gets good kicks almost daily at this point.

  • DH has felt him here and there, however, Niko is proving quite difficult even for me to feel with my hand. He'll be kicking away where you can actually see my tummy move, but then when you put your hand there he stops. So, DH has seen him kick more than he has felt him kick. I know once Niko gets a little bigger there won't be an issue.

1st pregnancy movement feeling for both DH and I @ 18 weeks

  • We've been able to feel her on the outside for a few weeks now-but my placenta is posterior, so I think that helps.  DH definitely gets excited when he does feel her, but he doesn't wait very long if she doesn't kick him right away.

  • DH got to feel her kicking only a couple if days after I did. I was really lucky cause her first kicks were really strong.

  • I felt movement for the first time at 16 weeks. I have been feeling large kicks from the outside for a couple weeks now. Its the coolest feeling and my favorite part of pregnancy.

  • I can see the kicks from the outside, and I had a bit of cushion. Those he can feel, and he can feelf the squirms sometimes, too, but he has also felt kicks before with my son, so like me he knows what he's looking for.

My DH has felt it a couple times! DS (9) felt him move yesterday! It's exciting when others can feel. I feel him all the time now a days! :)
  • I started feeling movement around 18 weeks with DH feeling her maybe around the 19 week mark. And as much of a relief as it is to feel movement it can really freak you out when your LO is super active one day then super quiet for a couple days after. I've already made one trip in to the OB for a quick doppler check during week 23--I was panicked because movement really declined. Turns out she was just fine but positioned in a way I couldn't feel her as well. The doctor said since I'm pretty thin I'm more in tune with what she's doing and her movements.

  • So, hubby is in the "too impatient" club... plus he has magic hands that immediately calm the baby down. But he's felt a few times now...
Several of you mentioned what I wondered about: how much pressure should he put on my belly? I think he's secretly scared of squishing Lil Noob in there haha

I started feeling flutters around 18 weeks though I wasn't positive they were the baby, more definitive movement around 21 weeks.  Since then DH has been trying to feel and finally felt something last week (23-24 weeks).  He was getting so frustrated that I would say the baby is kicking really hard and then when DH put his hand on my belly, the kicking stopped.  I finally just told him to give the baby a gentle poke and presto.  Then DH told me how mean I was to be poking HIS baby :)  I said, "well, he was kicking me first!"

  • I've been feeling LO for a while. Surprising because I'm a FTM and have a Buddha belly. DH felt LO around 21/22 weeks. It's kinda sporadic though. Sometimes he's kicking inward to my organs, sometimes out words, so much so I can see my belly jumping!
  • I started feeling very distict movement around 21 or 22 weeks and DH was able to feel him since June 29 (my birthday), I was 22w then. The baby kicked me so hard the other day it scared me and I dropped my phone! I was laying down and was able to see my stomach bulge out!! It was awesome! I have been able to see my stomache move and ripple for awhile now.
  • DH was able to feel baby move at 19 weeks. He is very impatient so he was lucky he felt her then.

  • It took a while, DS is very interested in feeling for hi baby brother when DH is trying to feel baby. Neither one had been successful until this weekend. DS had a weekend visit to my inlaws and DH had time to rest his hand while watching a movie. Baby boy was moving up a storm and had some really strong movements, so we were both loving it. DS says he feels and sees baby brother moving a lot, but he's 4...with a very active imagination. Lol.
  • We got lucky. I felt first kicks at 16 weeks. I didn't let my husband try to feel for a few days coz I assumed it'd take weeks, but then some were huge so he felt her a few days after I did.

He wrote her a lullaby & now when we play it through his phone on my stomach she kicks the phone haha
  • My H was able to SEE & FEEL movement at 23 w....I will be 24 w this Wednesday.
