Follow up question- did you follow a similar pattern to how your mother delivered? Meaning if she delivered early you did as well, etc.
My mom was 16 days late with me, labored for 36 hours and then had a c-section. I'm terrified of that happening...
Besides the oldest who was 1 day early, the rest of my mom's babies were late. My DD was 6 days late. My mom was able to deliver all of us vaginally but I needed a c-section due to my anatomy. I wouldn't base your fears off of your mom's experience. Although my OB eventually asked me after I had been pushing for so long with no progress: how big was I and was I delivered vaginally. So who knows?

My mom was in labor all day and had no idea, went to the hospital and was ready to push. I didn't want to come out then she needed a c-section but it was still within the hour of arriving at the hospital. I was 2 weeks early. My DS was only 4 days early and born vaginally. I'd say from personal experience, every pregnancy is different, even between you and your mother's.
D14 November Siggy Challenge: The feels of 3rd trimester...
DD was born 5 days late and that was after having my membranes swept - twice! I also continued teaching up until the day before I went into labor. My contractions started at 4 am and I was so worried it was false labor that I didn't call my boss and long term sub until 6am to let them know I wasn't going to make it! lol
I will say that I walked around and continued teaching at 3cm dilated and almost 100% effaced for at least a couple weeks before I had her, which drove me insane! I'm telling you, getting checked at each weekly appointment towards the end is such a mind game!
BFP #1 5/12/12; EDD 1/20/13; Eliana Grace born 1/25/13
I'm worried about going too late otherwise DH might miss the birth. But, I know it's more common for FTM to go later than earlier and would prefer for the sake of my child to be cooked fully even if DH has to miss it.
I started spontaneous labor at 34weeks with my first (which ended in a section due to cord prolapse), second section at 38weeks after starting labor, third section at 37weeks after starting labor.
As for following my mother- she was in the hospital on complete bedrest from 17weeks pregnant until 30weeks with my twin sister and I. My younger sister was born at 37 weeks, and my brother was born at 39weeks. She had all med free, vaginal births.
This baby is due on Christmas Eve & I am not worried at all, a Christmas baby would be sweet & make the holidays even more special. My daughter is also a December baby but 2 weeks before Christmas.

My first was 8 days early and my second was 2 days late. I'm pregnant with my third and wondering when this baby will decided she's ready. Both my kids say Christmas Eve.
