Pack and Play in lieu of CoSleeper for Twins

I've been set on using a full size cosleeper when we bring my twins home to have them both sleep (swaddled) in our bedroom with us for the first 6 weeks or so. I just discovered today that most pack and plays have a second height adjustment that allows the mattress to be positioned higher for newborns. It seems like I could use this instead for both babies? Has anyone done this with twins? Would you reccomend it?

Following. We have the mini pack n play from DD, and that was my plan. I'm wondering how well it works vs the rock n plays.

We had all three in the elevated part of the PNP for a few weeks, then just two for another month or so. Worked for us until they started moving around more. Moved all three into their own beds in their room at about 2.5 months adjusted. We don't have rock and plays (not sold in Canada).

The pack and play my parents got me came with two bassinet tops and we plan on using that until we can put them in the crib

Both of my girls are in the top part of our PNP. we swaddle them in woombies so they don't wake each other up. I like having them together

We have 2 packnplays downstairs for naps ( one from DS, the other is a hand me down from a coworker). At the very beginning we put both in one but I very quickly got uncomfortable- the surface just isn't as firm as in a crib and it felt like one could roll into the other. They're still sharing a crib in our bedroom- we'll likely separate them soon but it feels safe enough having them at either end. I think you can buy 2 new pack n plays for less than the twins one (and they're easy to find used).

Some of the new Graco PNP's have a removable bassinet! I am planning on using the removable bassinet in my old PNP that has a built in bassinet. Custom twin PNP

We are planning to put a bassinet free PNP at Grandma's house.

For us it was a space issue (co-sleepers are smaller), but if we had room the pack n play would have been just fine.

I have the full size arms reach co sleeper from DD. Its a glorified pack n play. One side drops down so you can put it right against your bed. Or you can leave the side up & its just like a pack n play. I never attached it to the bed because it was too hard for me to get in and out of bed with it there. You would need to crawl up from the foot or the far side of the bed. Since I had a c section, getting in & out of bed was hard enough. The upper parts do have 15-20 lb weight limits. Not suggesting anyone do this, but my 30 lb 3 yr old jumps in & out all of the time. Our babies slept together in here until about 5 months when we stopped swaddling and they were rolling. Now one is in the co sleeper & the other a pack n play. At 7 months they started sitting & pulling up so we dropped them down to the lower level.

BTW I would just get the pack n play. They are easier to fold up. Only reason to get the cosleeper is if you were going to side car it to your bed. Save the money.

We used the twin PnP. E came home from the hospital at 6 weeks and we used used it until they were 12 weeks or so. It does have terrible reviews, but it was a gift so we tried it. It worked well for us.

We also did this for all 3 for the first month but only during the day. We never had our LOs in our room, mostly because there is no space in the master but we share a wall, had an awesome monitor and in the beginning with the every 3 hour feeding schedule, someone was always awake

Thanks for all the great advice! I am going to go with the pack and play and just put it next to our bed. I had looked at the twin pack and plays but I didn't like how soft the bedding looked and the 'walls' of it. Plus, I would really like them together. I had read elsewhere that people were concerned about the babies rolling to the center, we'll keep an eye on that and adjust if necessary. Thanks so much everyone!

We used the twin pack n play for 4 months next to our bed and it was very useful for us. I read bad reviews but decided to try it anyway and we never had any problems. My babies never liked being snuggled together, they would always wake each other or smack each other in the face, so this was perfect because they had their own space but were right next to each other. The only reason I eventually moved them out of it was because they were getting too tall for the bassinets and when they would move, it would shake the whole thing. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
