Growing food. I don't have any pictures, but I love it. I have fruit trees and a vegetable garden. In the spring and summer, I love tending it and in the fall, I spend HOURS canning and freezing. MH doesn't get me, but I love it. It's a very relaxing and almost meditiative hobby.
ME: 33 H: 32 TTC Since 6/2013 Early Loss: 9/2013 MFI Diagnosis: 12/2014
@DaikokuJess I wish I could grow things. I can always get them to sprout but keeping them alive is so difficult!! @TLK08 that is really cool looking! is it going to hang up on the wall? @SpartanChick88 that is really great! I can only crochet with simple stitches so it's only blankets and scarves for me!
I love to paint, draw, write (both blogging and novel writing), and cook. I can knit as well, and I really like doing cross stitch, but those are more "when I feel like starting a project" hobbies.
In reality, I do not spend near as much time on my hobbies as I should. My time is spent cleaning the house, playing with our dogs (which is definitely a good hobby!), and now job searching. I have a stack of books I want to read so I should start setting aside more time to relax. It's easier to do that in the winter when the snow is falling and all I want to do is curl up and knit or read!
Married 9-1-12 (On Depo until 4-12) Me- 33, DH- 36
NTNP starting 9-12, Actively TTC since 9-13
My DX- Hypothyroidism. Prescribed Synthroid
DH's DX- Severe MFI- first SA results: 1.3 mill (1.2 mill motile), 21.6% motility, 2% morphology
Blood test revealed low testosterone so DH was prescribed Clomid. Repeat blood test and SA in November.
I agree @lizzyp9112 I have too many books on my must read list but I feel that DH and i have something planned every weekend in the summer. Hopefully I can start on them once winter comes.
@PenguinMG I love taking pictures but I'm not really that good at it. Congrats on winning some contest!! what type of subjects do you like to photograph? @cjchio I have absolutely no musical talent so props to you!
I am getting super into gardening since we have the space.I have always loved DIY projects inspired by pinterest. I have also been working on my cooking skills.

I love reading and writing and doing crafty projects for my office (I'm an elementary school counselor) or for special events, like decorations for a party. Aside from reading and some small crafting projects I don't have all that much time for hobbies.
@MiraK03 it's not. Because the lights are battery powered pack. But that would be neat if she could find a way to hang it up and hide the battery pack.
@MiraK03, I love taking pictures when we travel, but both contests I've won with pictures of my dogs.
That is still great! I try taking pictures of people and animals but they all turn out horrible. The only thing I can take a somewhat good picture of is architecture and flowers.
I love to cook, and I've been on a sewing jag lately. I made curtains for our living room and reupholstered a chair last week.
I also keep chickens and we are sort of an unofficial reptile and catahoula rescue. Since DH started working as the office manager of a vet clinic we have acquired two catahoulas, a corn snake, a rosy boa (who was ill and died) and a foster rat terrier we adopted out.
It's a good thing we live on an acre and love animals!
@KathrynG116 I have always loved horses and riding too, but we don't have enough room for me to have one. My next door neighbors do, so at least I can pet horse noses whenever I need a fix
I have loads of hobbies. I just don't have time for them. Working on an illustration commission when I do have time. I also enjoy gardening a little, and I greatly enjoy cooking when I'm caught up on housework (otherwise, it's just more work.)
When I have time, I read, draw/paint, and write (in that order.) I also crochet and sew when the mood strikes (it strikes less often than the urge to buy fabric.) I grew up in a medieval re-creation group, where I did things like wood-burning, stained glass, cold-steel knife making, cooking elaborate meals for large groups, chain-mail, a few instruments/singing, carving, calligraphy/illumination, making my own paints/dyes, historical research, rapier fighting, etc. I want my kids to have access to that incredible network of skills (and camaraderie), so I'm getting involved again (just got DH his armor, about to order the rest of my rapier kit.) (Yes, it is dorky, but it's way too much fun to care about that.)
Crochet has been my latest thing. I used to knit, but it's tougher to keep straight with a toddler helping. I also bake on occasion, but not as much anymore. As it turns out most of the "baby weight" I couldn't lose was really cupcake and cream puff weight
@Ladymouse that is awesome! we have friends that go to Pennsic and DH and I would love to go! we're huge nerds and would totally do cosplay if we had the time/money for costumes.
I wish I had time for a hobby - we've been super busy at work. I love to read and have 7 books on my Nook that I would love to get to. Also, my grandma promised to teach me how to knit & crochet, I just need to get over there.
I grow things, mainly pretty flowery things. Zinnias, roses, and wildflowers mainly. H and I have put in a large pumpkin patch, so that'll be interesting. I don't have a great place for a vegetable garden here, but I do grow most of my own herbs.
I would like to learn to sew and quilt. My grandmother is an expert seamstress, but those skills didn't pass on, so I'm a very slow study.
Baking is something I was always scared of, but in the past couple of years I've gotten really into it. I love making breads and cakes now. I've always like cooking, so that's something I do a lot. I have a ton of recipes. I love trying new and complicated things and making H eat them. I really love feeding lots of people.
I read like I breathe. Constantly. I have two or three books going at once. I probably own 500, not counting what's on my e-reader (movers love us). I read every night before bed. I re-read books all the time. Reading for me isn't so much a hobby as it is a necessity.

A hobby of mine has always been drawing..but I loose interest really quickly when I don't push myself to finish a piece..I also love photography. Especially taking all of ds pics
I can't believe I forgot photography! I have to share the best pic I think I've taken of DD yet. I will only leave it up for a short time though because I don't like having pics of her on the interwebz
We have stopped taking her to the professional places and I've just started doing them myself
I play board games and video games. I also like crafty things, but I'm still working on replacing all my things since moving.
I also really like to bake.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
I forgot about this to, I really like to read. My Kindle and Nook apps are ridiculously full but its really a favorite pass time. And Shopping. I'm good at that.
@EllyD14 we are a board games family as well! we try to have a board game night at least once a month. @littledog25 I've always wished i could have learned to play the piano. @SpartanChick88 your daughter is beautiful @JustMaike those drawings are GREAT!! you are indeed very talented
@littledog25 I've been playing for about 30 years but I don't have a piano now... it kills me sometimes! We have been looking for one but just haven't gotten there yet.
@MiraK03 Thank you (: it's almost sad because I haven't touched my art stuff in well over a year. I mainly take pictures nowadays (like the one of DS in my signature) but as soon as I have more time (and patience) I'll pick up the pencil again.
@KathrynG116 I'm from St. Louis, but DH and I live in Texas, in a little town North of Houston. We only have an acre, but want to eventually buy enough property to own a few horses. I have chickens and we're looking into milk goats next year. I have never had my own horse, but I worked for a place that did boarding and trail riding as a teen. Raleigh is a great area; my parents are looking to retire near there.
P.S. I'm gonna look into PiYo; I've been doing yoga and Pilates since college. I'm intrigued!
I really enjoy cooking and trying to use up whatever the DH grows in the garden, reading, working with local animal rescue groups, music of all kinds (I've played the oboe for 20 years), wine (well not anymore), running, and being a gym rat. I can paint/draw/sew alright but usually only do that when I need something. Most of my down time is spent watching sports to be completely honest. I LOVE hockey and football so I'm really excited for fall. =]
I wish I had more desire to do the fun hobbies but between work, home, dog, and working out I don't get a lot of time.
That's Kristine with a K...because I'm special. I cross-stitch, decorate cakes, and volunteer with a local community theatre company (behind the scenes, though I'd love to make the jump on stage at some point, but we always need tech folk :P).

"Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.
Follow your heart, kid, and you'll never go wrong."
I paint mostly, but I do it to supplement income as well, so not sure if that counts as a hobby. I also love to write poetry, ballroom dance, zumba, and making shutterfly books.
Oh and I could probably claim babywearing/wrapping as a hobby.
I read like I breathe. Constantly. I have two or three books going at once. I probably own 500, not counting what's on my e-reader (movers love us). I read every night before bed. I re-read books all the time. Reading for me isn't so much a hobby as it is a necessity.
You are my soul mate. This. Absolutely this. Except I have no e-book, so I probably have around 2000 books in our house, not counting childrens books.
I've been getting back into reading for pleasure again. I'm in Grad School so I do lots of reading anyway but its nice when I'm not in school to read a good book instead of text books and research. I also like to cook, play with my dog, and garden.
I feel like I've picked up a new hobby every season at this point. I crossfit (incase thats not given away by my name), and recently started coaching at the gym as well.
I have my first garden this year which I've managed to overload and have squash and cucumbers coming out of my ears. I've always sucked at growing things but this came pretty easy. Next year I will be tripling in size of the garden assuming I can convince DH to clear the space I want.
I quilt and have for a while. Im currently working on my first tee shirt quilt so we will see how that ends up.
I also cook…a lot and have learned to really enjoy it.
