For the STM's out there:
Ok, I'm curious - how many of you were overdue with your first pregnancies? DH know's I'm not thrilled with the threat of having a holiday baby and keeps telling me that all his friends with LO's were late with the first one (though I think he may be trolling me). Barring any serious complications, how many of you were later or earlier with cutie pie #1? How far off from your due date were you?
BTW, for those of you expecting on a holiday, please do not be offended - none was intended. Those of you with holiday birthdays, I think you understand what I'm talking about!
Edit: I know every circumstance is different and this kid will decide to greet the world when they're ready. I'm just curious with other's experiences, I love hearing what you ladies have to say

. I think its a part of the community experience.
Re: STM's: Were you late?!
BFP#5 5/22/17 EDD:1/27/17 It's a GIRL!!!!
I'm due on Christmas Eve. However, I'm not concerned seeing as how most babies aren't born on their due dates. My DS was 2 1/2 weeks early. Of course, this really doesn't mean much for this pregnancy. Each pregnancy is different and each baby will come when he/she is ready. Unless you can schedule a C-section or induction, there really is no way to know.

I made it to 39 weeks for my scheduled cs with my second baby too. He was almost nine pounds. I think he would have stuck around a while longer too.
My unsolicited advice to all FTM is this: don't get your heart set on having the baby "on time". It will just feel like a disappointment if you go a little longer. So many FTM's convince themselves that the baby is going to be early or be born exactly on the due date and then they are all worried and upset when it doesn't happen.
Also, talk to your OB. Most of the time, they are comfortable with FTM's going all the way to 42 weeks. If there isn't anything wrong with the placenta or with the mama, there isn't a reason to induce before then.

LO #1 - I was induced at 40 weeks, 6 days on the morning of July 5th. I get where your coming from about the holiday. I was set to be induced on July 4th but when we called the hospital it was full so I had to call and check the next morning. He was born on the 5th via C-section. So this little one will be a repeat C-section at 39 weeks. When I went in to be induced I felt no contractions but turns out I was having one every 2 minutes. DS had been head down the entire pregnancy but tilted his head in the end and that was the need for a C-section.
I think your DH is right. Whether late or early not all babies are born on their actual due date.

Spontaneous labor 5 days before the due date with DD (though I think they miscalculated the leap year, so I think only 3 days before her due date). Thank goodness though, since she was already 9.5 lbs and 22 inches long!!
I was originally thinking it would be in the 37 week range since both my mom and grandma had all of their babies a month early at around 6lbs- I guess I just like to bake 'em a little longer!
I'm expecting similar as DD this time, but who knows, every pregnancy is different I've heard!
