I'm a lurker and never intro'd - just want to hopefully calm your nerves a bit.
I am due October 10th and have had spotting/bleeding throughout the second trimester. I never had any first trimester bleeding - it started around week 21. I have gone to labor & delivery on 4 separate occasions to be checked out(most recently yesterday!) and each time my little girl looks perfect. While spotting this late in pregnancy isn't typical, it can be normal for many women.
As long as your cervix isn't shortening, there is no infection, your fluid levels are normal and any placenta problems are ruled out (abruption, previa etc.), you more than likely have a friable cervix like me. The bleeding has caused me a lot of anxiety, but I've learned to be my best advocate and ask questions. Don't worry about what your doctor thinks. Ask him/her to be specific about the nature of the bleeding. Ask them to swab you for amniotic fluid, to test your urine for infection and to give you an ultrasound of your cervix etc.
I wish you the best of luck. I am sure everything will turn out just fine!
I am laying in labor and delivery listening to the heart beat. They are keeping me for an u/s but at least the baby is doing well. Really hoping i don't end up on bedrest. Thank you for all the messages.

Thanks for updating. Sending lots of T&Ps your way.
They are admitting me overnight. Hoping to be out tomorrow but may be here for the long haul. If the marginal previa continues i may be stuck here. I have to say that i hate hospitals.
I hope it all goes well I know hospital stays are tough try and stay occupied. How did your ultra sound go? How are your fluid levels have they dropped ? Is your cervix shortened at all , keep us posted and stay positive! Thinking of you and baby

I'm so sorry you're stuck in the hospital... that sucks. I hate hospitals too. Fingers crossed it's a short stay and you can go rest safely at home soon!

I'm sorry you have to stay at the hospital but glad they're watching out for you and your baby. I'll say a prayer for you!

That is the good news. Everything with the baby looks normal and great. Measuring ahead of schedule (weighs 2lb 8oz and the readings looks ahead of 27 weeks), normal fluid levels and cervix normal.
They are keeping me because I have a marginal placenta previa that caused the bleed. At this point the bleeding has completely stopped and we think they are just being super cautious because of our last pregnancy ending so badly.
So sorry to hear you're going through this and I hope your hospital stay is as short as possible. Sounds like both our placentas need to get their act together stat! If we both end up on bedrest, a bookclub or series binge watching club may be in order!

It's a GIRL!!!
Bed rest at the hospital is not as much fun as being at home. Take one day at a time. Keep busy with baby stuff.
