Keeping you guys in our thoughts. Hopefully you will hear from the Doctor asap! I am terrible at waiting when it comes to medical information so I can't imagine how difficult the waiting is.
I have been afk for many hours now and just saw this. I am giving you the creepiest of internet hugs right now. Please keep us posted and as PPs said, the Google is not your friend right now. I hope you get better news soon.
Gosh google can be our best/worst friend! As hard as it is, def try not to get worked up until you have relevant facts from that pertain to you and your pregnancy--not others. Hang in there!
I just wanted to respond to your post because we are dealing with the same situation with our baby girl. The issue was discovered at about 22 weeks and the dilation was at around 7mm. At 25 weeks, it was about 9mm and at our last scan this past week at 27 weeks it was around 10mm. Based on what the specialist told us, this puts her in the mild/moderate category, which makes me fairly confident in saying that the 6mm measurement that you mentioned in and of itself is in the mild category.
The main concern with the dilation is that blockage it is not impeding the kidney from doing its job. In the case of our LO, urine output is good and the tissue is not being constricted. Also, the fact that only one kidney is affected is very positive b/c you only *need* one working kidney. Although this issue is sometimes resolved before birth, it is very possible that you'll have extra monitoring and testing once the baby is born to ensure that it does resolve on its own. Bladder/kidney infections, while not a concern in the sterile womb, are something to be on the lookout for after birth as well.
To hear that anything is wrong with your baby is scary as hell, but try to stay positive. The good points are that they found the issue now so they can monitor it closely and that your baby has a healthy, fully-functioning right kidney. This seems to be a somewhat common condition, particularly among boys, and a very correctable one.
I hope that you are able to talk to a doctor about your results soon. Discussing this with a professional definitely helped me to feel less anxious (although I'll admit that I can't help worrying anyway). Stay strong and know that I'm happy to discuss/support you with this in the future.
So sorry you're going through all that stress with baby girl. ((Hugs)) to you and t&p that everything resolves itself! Also I can't believe you got the info without talking to your doctor about it! Maybe they're not concerned about it which is good?

So sorry that you are going through this. Waiting it out over the weekend especially sucks. FX that you have good news from the doctor on Monday and try and stay positive (although I know it's hard).
