diaper change at night

How many times do you change DC's diaper at night? DH wants me not to change DS's diaper, but I can't stand the thought of him sitting in poo/pee!

I change DS's diaper when he wakes up around 3-4am (he goes down at 8pm, and usually only wakes up twice, once around 3 and again around 5).

?The problem is -- sometimes after the diaper change, he won't go back to sleep.....

Do you let DC STTN without changing the diaper???

Re: diaper change at night

  • We don't do diaper changes (or burping) at night unless he's pooped.
  • Loading the player...
  • He lets us know when it is wet or soiled... we never wait to change it (gross and cruel imo).
  • Our little man (10 weeks) gets up twice during the night and I change the diaper each time before feeding him.  He's good about putting himself back to sleep though usually if he does wake up fully.
  • no diaper changes at night.  he doesn't poo at night anyway.

  • We do not change them unless it is super wet or poop.

  • we don't do diaper changes unless DD wakes up from them.  She usually doesn't have a dirty diaper at night, though.
  • If she wakes up, I change her.  But I don't wake her to change her.  Generally, she doesn't wake from pee, just poo, so I'd want to change her anyway.

  • We use Triple Paste Cream and he doesn't get changed during the night unless it's pretty bad. It would wake him up more. For this reason, I bathe DS's bottom every morning and also before he goes to bed to clean up from the day.

  • I only change DS when he poops at night because he wakes up to go, but he goes down for the night at 11-1130p and is up for the day by 7am, usually up once around 4am. I just use desitan creamy before bed. So far no problems. If I change his diaper he wakes up and it will take a good hour to get him back to sleep.

  • L usually sleeps 10-12 hours (2 nights ago she slept 13.5!!) uninterrupted.... and we certainly don't wake her for a diaper change. If she's uncomfortable, she lets us know. We use cloth diapers so she hasn't had any rash issues.

  • When started DS STTN 11-12 hours he had some leaks and a bit of diapers rash. So now that he's back to waking up once at night I do change his diaper. I usually do it first and then feed him and he doesnt have trouble getting back to sleep. He's never pooped at night that i can remember.

  • During my work week, I don't do diaper changes for pee. They go to bed around 10-11pm and my mom will change them when she gets here at 7:30am.

When I am off, we still go to bed around 10-11pm, but I like to sleep until 10:00am. So I change their diaper around their 2-3am feeding.

If they poo, I change it.

  • I did change each time until it was hard to get her to go back to sleep.  She was only waking once a night (6wks old today!) so, I stopped changing and just gave a bottle.  She is never poopie. She went right back to sleep.  She has even STTN the last 3 nights.  Down at 930 - 10 up at 5.
  • I don't if he falls back asleep, even after a poop.  I've learned that if I change him after he's asleep, we have a rough night.  He doesn't seem uncomfortable and has no diaper rash.  Now, if he poops and is awake I will change him.
