AW shower thank you gifts & "game"

I'm having a "sprinkle" tomorrow with my closest family & friends. Very low key & hopefully not a lot of gifts. I know they are thrilled to have a new baby girl arriving soon though. Here are the thank you gifts that I put together for my VIPs, and also everyone is making a headband. This is the sample one I made this morning. I get to pick the best one & that person wins a prize.
What are you ladies doing at your showers/sprinkles?

I suck at planning stuff like that, so I'm letting the BFF tackle that one. She's asked for a lot of input because she's traveling from out of state to host it, but yeah, I got nothing when it comes to this stuff. Her circus, her monkeys.

  • I have know idea. My mom mentioned a game she found online that I hope to god she doesn't use! It's basically guess how big around momma is. .. I don't want to know and think it's rude. But I have no say.

    Have fun at your sprinkle

Great ideas! Our game prizes were nail polish :) the headbands are super cute.

My thank you favors (from my shower last weekend) were two Swedish butter ball cookies wrapped in cellophane/ribbon, and attached to that was a scan/card stock print of the recipe from my mother. I really wanted to involve her somehow, and given how much she loved to bake, it just made sense. As a bonus, making them was very therapeutic for me.

I tried to fight back the tears when explaining it to the shower guests but my sister and I just ended up sobbing heavily heheh

Edit: Our games were baby-related pictionary; the game where everyone begins by wearing 3 clothespins but can steal someone else's pin if they say the word "baby" throughout the event (the person with the most pins wins); and "The Price is Right" game, where there's a list of baby items and you have to guess the price...the person closest to the grand total won.

  • I really love the headband idea. My best friend is in charge of games and I think my mom said that they're doing gift bingo, don't say baby, and guess the number of jelly beans. I think they'd also asking a few people to bring baby pictures and they'll have everyone guess which pic belongs to which guest.

Have a great time at your sprinkle!

  • My family is not big on games at showers but the one thing we do is set a timer while the guest of honor is opening presents and when the timer goes off the gift giver of the gift shes on gets one of the table centerpieces as a prize. The center pieces are usually some sort of fresh flower arrangement. Thank you favors are usually something edible, when I hosted my sisters shower I got chocolate bars from Fannie May and made a custom wrapper that matched the invites with a little thank you message on them from my sister.

    So sweet!
  • Mine isn't until August 9th, but my sisters gave me veto power on games, so I know we're doing Price is Right, baby food tasting, and guessing belly size. I'm also bringing wooden letters so people can decorate the alphabet for LO's room. Last I heard favors were still up in the air. There's a bee theme so they got little boxes and were thinking of Burt's Bees and jellybeans?

  • Mines also august 9th were doing gift bingo a diaper raffle and guess mamas belly size... As for favors were making homemade truffles and wrapping them up all pretty yum
  • My baby shower is this Sunday. SIL is hosting, and all I know about it is where she ordered the cake (and that they won't be guessing the size of my belly... that was my one request). Everything else is a surprise. I'm really excited, but also a little jealous off you girls that know the details of your shower beforehand.
