Placenta trees

This story is about my aunt and cousins. We live on the same homestead and we just buried E's placenta under an apple tree this spring too.     Love it. We buried DD1's placenta on the land we own. We had a little ceremony, just our little family, on the day of her church dedication. I figured that the day I was giving her back to the Lord was a good day to give her placenta back to the earth. There was a strange symbolism for me - like I wanted to give the thing that sustained her life for all that time, and that was created from the food I ate, back to the earth to create more food. I know....I'm crazy. I still have DD2's placenta in the freezer and plan to do the same thing. I'm just waiting to do her church dedication.
