Placenta trees

This story is about my aunt and cousins. We live on the same homestead and we just buried E's placenta under an apple tree this spring too. I just thought I would pass this pretty cool story on. :)" https://blogs.babycenter.com/mom_stories/07162014-journey-of-a-placentafrom-womb-to-freezer-to-under-the-apple-tree/

Re: Placenta trees

  • Love it. We buried DD1's placenta on the land we own. We had a little ceremony, just our little family, on the day of her church dedication. I figured that the day I was giving her back to the Lord was a good day to give her placenta back to the earth. There was a strange symbolism for me - like I wanted to give the thing that sustained her life for all that time, and that was created from the food I ate, back to the earth to create more food. I know....I'm crazy. I still have DD2's placenta in the freezer and plan to do the same thing. I'm just waiting to do her church dedication.

What a neat story. Wish we had done something similar.
