I leave the house for one hour and this is what happens:
Last night, my boyfriend tried giving baby a bottle of refrigerated breast milk. He heated it up and tried feeding her. She wasn't interested. Short time later, I had her and since he had heated it up, I tried giving it to her. She didn't want it, she wanted the breast, so that's what I gave her, and placed the bottle by the rocking chair we were in. Forgot about it since I breastfed her and didn't bring it to the kitchen and dump it out. We didn't return to the chair at all the next day (today). Not something I would normally do (leave food out).
So I leave this afternoon for an errand and boyfriend calls me, but I missed the call. I come home and he tells me what he called for--He wanted to know if that bottle of milk by the rocking chair was ok to give the baby. He figured it was from today (still not ok, man!) since like I said--I don't normally leave things like that out.
He did. He gave her the old milk from last night. I'm freaking out. We called the pediatrician but summer hours--she's not in on Tuesdays and we're not paging her for this.
We're going to have a sick baby, aren't we?
ETA: I googled for the answer, too, and apparently no one else has done this before. Where's our "Parents of the Year" award?
