We just did bath, boobie & I'm praying bed is next! Hope this kid surprises me with a long stretch tonight...maybe even 4 hours!
  • Sorry, @lest12‌. The witching hour sucks!
  • I fed her, she fell asleep, handed her to DH and pumped for 10 minutes and she wakes up crying. Diaper change, burping, DH plays with her until the cries get serious and she is back on my boob in less than an hour and nearly right after pumping (where I barely got a full ounce from both combined.)

I worry she won't be satisfied now and also need her to space out her feedings again.

Wish you could reason with a month year old.

Just after 12:30 here and B has fallen asleep on my boob for the third time in the last hour and a half. It's so frustrating, I really thought I was getting to bed before midnight tonight, but he keeps waking up the second I try to move him. :(

  • K is in bed after bath, nursing and put him back to bed twice. He got his two month shots today and it's already been rough so I kind if expect tonight to be also.

She spent 76 minutes on the left boob. SEVENTY SIX. Two diaper changes, burping, wide awake and spitting up when I put her in the travel crib at the foot of the bed followed by crying and rooting.

We're on the couch now and she is on my right boob.

    I am miserable.

    Sorry, lest12‌!

It's still early here, but LO has been nursing almost constantly since noon (it's now 8:30). Hoping this means she'll sleep well, but thinking it actually means we are in for a long night.

    This is us exactly.
On day 4 of this. Barely holding on.

  • @shannonliggett‌ I am too tired. Laid back nursing (so I could lay down) in the dark. I feel like it is a Mom fail to do this but I plan to put her in the mamaroo next to me after this feeding and see if she will sleep there.

@ktcort13 I was having those exact thoughts.

  • @BMaidPlanner‌ You can do it!

I think we are finally done with our 3 week growth spurt. (Although I guess I shouldn't say that until we get through the night).

  • Stupid diaper blowout. Lo actually slept through it, but i had to change her out of poopy pjs. Then my still sleepy lo got the hiccups, which woke her up. Then she is hungry, so gave a few ounces of breastmilk. Got her back to sleep, and she poops again. Damn this never ending circle.

Will try covering her with a blanket to keep her from being cold while i change her. Maybe she will stay asleep?

Being with my LO rocks! DD born 6/13/14.

Changed her diaper, fed well, and She was sleeping nice until she got too hot and woke up. Poor thing was so sweaty =[ so now she is asleep again on my chest with a fan blowing on her. Stupid hot summer nights!
  • I'm so sorry you're all having such a hard time!! Hugs and hoping it gets better.

I think this will bite me in the ass tonight, but Charlie just woke up for his first motn feed...at 4 am! I kept Him much warmer this afternoon than usual this afternoon, apparently I've been freezing him for the past six weeks....different baby all together! He fell asleep at 8pm, at 10 I changed and didba giant dream feed, and hebstayed asleep forever. I went to bed around 11 which means I got five hours of sleep in a row. Hasn't happened since long before I had him.

  • DH put LO to bed tonight and it was heaven. She had fussed and fed for hours, so he took her for a walk while I collapsed into bed. I woke up again at midnight in a panic because I didn't know where she was. She was fast asleep in her crib.

Unfortunately, she seems to have settled into a schedule of feeding every 2 hours every night. I thought I'd be getting more sleep as she got older... Where are the magical 3 and 4 hour stretches?

So tired. LO had shots yesterday and so he's been wanting to nurse more often. I slept in the recliner since 1 accidentally. :/ we did a lot of waking up and fussing. :(

  • I need to pump. She won't stop eating. I am so scared I won't make my commitments away from her this week.

Were you done? How long was your spurt? Mine started on her month birthday, Friday, and still seems to be going today but Monday she tricked me and took naps.

Nope, spoke too soon. We started at 2 weeks 5 days and still going at 3 weeks 3 day. I don't know, maybe this is just him now. Days are better than they were at least.

My question is about naps and bedtime. LO has been sleeping since 5pm and it is now 7:30. Should I wake him up so I can put him to be day a reasonable hour tonight or let him sleep? He hasn't eaten since 4. He is 7 weeks old.

    Oops wrong thread!!

  • W has been so fussy today. She's usually very calm and content. I feel bad for being frustrated because of one bad day when I know others deal with much more. I guess I just feel like I don't know where I went wrong today. She keeps latching and unlatching while nursing and screams when I put her down. I've been working on getting her to sleep for just over an hour now and it's not happening.

Tonight's going to be a long one, I can already tell.

I dont understand how a 4 week old knows how to fight sleep when she is clearly exhausted. Tired and crying because she is tired.. Cone on baby sleep!
  • I don't understand why my baby hates being rocked. These MOTN wake ups would be a little more tolerable if I didn't have to spend 1-2 hours pacing the house trying to bounce him back to sleep. We have a lovely comfortable rocker in the nursery that gets zero use. Mama is too tired for this much exercise in the middle of the night (hello, 14 lb baby).

  • I feel like im never going to get myself back into a good sleeping schedule. This having two kids thing is hard when they keep taking turns waking up... I finally have them both sleeping peacefully, but now I've caught a second wind, AND I'm hungry... no sleep for me tonight... again.

Put my DS down at 10 30 and he fell asleep before I could get a good burp out of him. I pump at night and give him a bottle, so I know there is gas there. Well, tried for 45 mins to wake him and get a burp to no avail. So let him sleep. He woke up at 1 45 am screaming in pain with lower gas. Changed his diaper and pushed his legs to his chest. He fell back asleep. Hopefully he stays asleep until morning. He usually sleeps a good 7-8hrs a night. I feel like a bad mum for not getting a burp out when he suffers so bad with pains :-(

Guess who is wide awake at 4am? Luka! I guess, at least, he's not crying... but why is he wide awake? It's the MOTN, baby, get on board!

I'm up again too. H man was up an hour ago to eat but passed out and I couldn't wake him to finish. Now he's un latching himself to take an explosive poop that I felt vibrate my arm. He just got changed and reswaddled. Love you too, lo.

Edited because it's four am, I'm typing left handed and not wearing my glasses.

  • We did away with the shifts once hubby started work again. Now both of us are miserable and going back to the shifts, but it means one of us going to bed at 6pm. There goes our freaking life.

It's 2:30 and I have had zero sleep tonight. I'm now pumping and of course both babies decide nows a good time to freak the fuck out. Just. Want. Sleep.

  • K just toot her first bottle in a day that wasn't accompanied by horrible screams of discomfort. Poor kid has reflux and we've been giving her prevacid for it but yesterday was bad. I'm lucky to have Dh's 13 year old step sister visiting and helping with the girls this week - not sure how well I'd be dealing otherwise. If only someone else could help with MOTN every once in a while...mommy needs some more sleep!
  • as happy as I am that B is temporarily free from all his doctors, I can't wait for his test at the end of the month. I am really hoping it gives us the answers we are looking for regarding his feeding. sometimes I hate feeding him because I can't stand to watch him struggle to eat, especially in the motn when it seems to be the worst. it breaks my heart to watch him choke, gag, and flail his arms and legs because he can't breathe. I wish I could fix it for him right now :-<
