Update - I'm Here Again *Siggy Warning*

I'm unfortunately back on this board (old s/n was amberhoon). I had my first m/c in March and then just was told today that our LO stopped growing at 7w2d (I was supposed to be 9w tomorrow). I elected to have a D&E tomorrow since it hasn't happened naturally and physically I just need this to be over. Does anyone have any advice for someone going into a D&E? Thanks for your help ladies, and sorry we have to meet/re-connect here. I had my d&e today and am home doing ok. I'll write a bit more later when I'm up to it but wanted to let you know I got through everything ok. Thanks for your support.

    I'm sorry for your loss.  No experience to offer here, but I am likely looking at the same thing as you... discovered missed miscarriage last Thursday and my body is doing nothing about it yet.

    I'm sorry for your loss. I've had 2 D&Cs and have been sedated for both. Neither were to bad, and honestly my natural miscarriage was far more painful than the cramps following both of mine. I just took it easy for a few days, did have some pain meds but after a few days wasn't really needed.

    BFP #3 1/10/2013 - Blighted Ovum 2/7/2013
    BFP #4 8/22/2013 - D&C 10/22/2013

    RPL testing discovered blood clotting issue

    BFP #5 3/9/2014 - Discovered baby no longer had a heartbeat at 20 week U/S, Induced Delivery & D&C 6/27/2014

    Awaiting Genetic results to determine steps forward

    I'm so sorry you're back here. :(

    Bring a pad with you to the hospital for after. Otherwise you're stuck with their massive diaper ones and it just makes an already awful situation a little worse. Take care.
    Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.

    Thanks ladies. And thanks @EllyD14‌ I've missed you though I hoped to see you elsewhere. I wasn't talked to about sedation so I think I might be awake. That scares the crap out of me. The doc also scheduled me for a d&e vs a d&c - does that change anything?

    D&E's tend to be used for after bones are formed, and is a little more difficult than a D&C, but pretty similar recovery in my experience. And I would assume you would be out under general anesthesia, even if it hasn't been brought up.

    mrandmrsk91011 I don't think I'm being sedated as I wasn't talked to about anesthesia and I had no food/water restrictions which you would normally have when being put under. Any advice for me? I am pretty terrified now that I read the D&C thread and realized almost everyone is put under for the procedure.

    @mrandmrsk91011 How are you feeling? I got hit with some massive cramps and a ton of bleeding today after feeling ok the past 2 days. Seriously I've been doubled over in pain. :( Hoping you skipped this part and are feeling good.

    @mrandmrsk91011 The procedure went fine and was really quick. I have the nicest doctor so that helped a lot. It was really uncomfortable, of course, but I'm glad I made the decision to just get it over with. Glad you were able to get some extra rest - try to get some more!
