What's the worst name you have ever heard?

For example I heard from a man once (his daughter works ob in a big city hospital) that some lady named her baby shithead. Pronounced shith-eed

A friend of mine named her kid Achiles. Misspelled and all. They chose it "because he was a badass in the movie Troy". I don't think they had any idea that Achilles is a legendary character who is best known for his weakness!

I was just talking to my friend the OB about worst names. She just finished her residency and chalked most of the bad names up to the mother having a strong grasp on the English language.

The following were babies that she delivered:

- Placenta (girl)

- Lemon Jello (twin boy)

- Orange Jello (twin boy)

- My Boyfriend

Meanwhile her colleague delivered:

- Chlamydia (girl)

I used to have to call and confirm employment status of networking contacts and got some "fun" names.

Dick Butt (first name: Dick, last name: Butt) and Holly Wood (first name: Holly, last name: Wood) were my favorites. To Holly's credit, I'm amazed she ended up in marketing rather than stripping with a name like that.

Yep, teachers get to see some pretty unique ones! Actually, I had a student named Unique once. Then, I had a Tequila and Margarita (sisters) because that's what their mom was drinking when she conceived each of them. Classy. I also had a Sir one year. Sometimes, I think parents just throw out Scrabble pieces and see what they can come up with because the spellings of the names are so bizarre!

My uncle used to sell life insurance, and some of the doozies he'd get for new policies:

Orangejello and Lemonjello (or-AHN-juh-lo and luh-MON-juh-lo, yes, twins, and I met them)

Pajama (PAA-juh-may)

Shithead (shi-THEED)

Nosmoking (NOZ-mo-king, from the sign in the ambulance)

We also have a good family friend named Admiral, and he's really trying to convince me that the world needs more little boys named Admiral.

And when I was in college, a friend's dad went to a neurologist in St. Louis named Dr. Richard Head. Yup, Dr. Dick Head.

I found at that a girl I grew up with named her twin girls Hennessy and Alize because she was drinking Thug Passions the night she conceived them. Guess she ran out of Cristal to make 2Pac's original recipe. So yeah, super classy.

I had a boy in my class named Sonic one year. As in, the hedgehog. I also know a girl name Errinne- pronounced Erin but I'm not sure why there's a need for all the extra letters.

I work with a woman named "Hershey" when I first met her I asked how it was pronounced, and she looked at me and was like "like the chocolate bar."

Apparently her mother was obsessed with Hershey chocolates while pregnant.. So that's where that came from!

After working in pediatrics for 11 years I've come across some doozies. The most recent was a little boy named Lightening. To make it worse their last name started with Mc. Not McQueen but close enough. Can you imagine being 35 and sending out your résumé with that name??

Working in the lab at the hospital, we had to register and do all the paperwork for every baby born, for their PKU testing. The worst ones that I can remember were; Cobra-Allen, Raven Raven-Horst, and then there are all the assaults on the English language with extra consonants and no vowels.

I love my children, and I am sure they will stand out on their own, they don't need their names to do it for them

I've had students named Holly Day, Jezebel Boozer (yes, slutty drunk)
went to middle school with Supreme Courts ( first name, last name)
a girl in high school had a daughter and named her Chozyn Destiny
a friend at church had a girl in her class this year named Le-a (le-dash-uh)
And there was the Sweet (last name) family in town with four daughters: Really, Truly, Forever, and Always. .. heard they were great girls, but I always felt bad for them with their names. Always was engaged to a kid at my high school and we told him he had to take her last name so she didn't sound like a druggie (his last name was Huff)
