@wedding06 and @baconface - I've got some friends that I would place in the same category you described. It sucks, but I've also met other people who are in a more similar place in life and it's been great. Eventually you just start spending time with the people you have most in common with.
Since you're both in "Boston" let's plan a GTG while the weather is nice! I'd love to finally meet you guys!!
Olivia started teething and figured out how to stand up in her crib holding on to the side pretty much simultaneously this weekend. I'm gearing up for a long night. For the moment though, she's sleeping. We just had to move her mattress to the next notch down. It made me sad.
It is Harry Potter weekend. Sitting here watching movie after movie. You are new so let me explain. DH and I are Harry Potter obsessed and even have a Harry Potter nursery. This was before baby so now there is no bumpers, etc.
Lol! I forget that I am "new" here. In reality, I've been keeping up since before the pee dried. I know all about fundal charts and prams, etc, etc.

Butplusalso, I appreciate the nursery pics again! Super cute nursery
How do you do it? Like, LITrally, how? I think this is a great idea and I'd love to do it, but like... obviously the babies aren't paying attention. So are you just reading out loud while LO bangs blocks together? Or read one sentence at a time while they listen?
Or do you just have baby geniuses?
I have this question too! I'm dying for an excuse to buy the fancy edition of the Harry Potter books "for DS" but I dunno how I would get him to pay attention or at least entertain himself long enough to let me read to him...or do you do it while they're having their bottle? I guess that might work
Don't mind me, just thinking out loud here...while I watch the Harry Potter marathon
I read to him while he plays on the floor in his room. So basically yes, while he bang blocks. I feel like it is just good for him to hear words and cadence, but sometimes he turns to look at me while I'm reading and I will say the sentence to him while keeping eye contact.
I have been reading to him since he was an infant and when he was around three months old I remember him reacting to the change in my voice when I was reading a particularly sad book that was choking me up.
Buuuuuut, I am reading him Defending Jacob right now and it is chalk full of curse words.

Haha I censor for her. I was reading Gone Girl to her a few weeks ago. If you haven't read it, it says "F-ing B" like every other sentence, so I would come up with funny substitutes. It would definitely make my husband laugh in the other room.
@lereade, how did they come out? I am currently on my way to the store so I can also make these. Then I was looking through all the "bar" recipes on the site and I think imma need to make them all!

@PinkDahLia44 they were really good! I sent some to DH's work just so I wouldn't eat all of them myself! I've fallen down her rabbit hole of brunch foods, I think my baking/cooking bug is kicking back in.
