Question to those of you who own this. Are you able to wear baby facing in both directions? Product description says yes, but a friend said no. What's your experience? Thanks!
Nope. You can use an Ergo Original on your front (facing you), your back, or your hip.
It's better to keep baby facing inward anyway, though. When they face out, they can't turn away when they become overstimulated. Their backs are also less well-supported, since they aren't curled into your chest or back.
Some babies do well when being worn facing outward (some parents even say that this is the only way baby would stand to be worn), but I wouldn't choose a carrier just because it had the forward facing option. That's just me.
The Ergo360 and the Becco Gemini are both good carriers with ergonomic seats that can be worn both outward and inward facing on the front. If this is an important feature to you, check those out.
The 360 can be worn facing front/back not only on your front, but also your back, as well as your side. You'd think it was the second coming--all my mom friends are raving about it
