Hello, I don't think I've been on here since before our daughter was born! Things look a lot different around here!
I need some advice - This is really the first stomach virus LO has had where she's been throwing up, along with diarreha.
Sunday morning she threw up once but seemed fine the rest of the day, minus the diarreha, just no appetite and didn't want to drink hardly anything. Monday she threw up 4 times within an hour and I ended up calling the Dr because I was worried. They said to bring her in just to check for dehydration since she had been refusing pretty much everything since Saturday afternoon. They said she looked good and that it was just a stomach virus that had to run it's course.
Two days later, she's still just as sick, she hasn't hardly eaten anything that has stayed down since this past Saturday but has been drinking fluids okay. There's no visible signs of dehydration (she is crying tears and her mouth is wet, a few wet diapers a day) but I'm getting worried about her not getting any nutrition. It makes me really worried because she's underweight as it is. I've given her some Pediasure (her pedi recommended it at her 15 month visit) but that seems to aggrevate the vomitting even worse, I'm guessing because of the sugar in it. She wont drink milk. The only foods I've been offering are crackers, toast, applesauce, and chicken noodle soup, really bland foods, etc to try to keep it down. She's thrown up 14 times since Sunday night (I kept track...that's a lot of puke to clean up! My washer hasnt really stopped since this started!

)
Should I call the Dr again? Just wait it out? Stop freaking out? Is there even anything they can do?
Thanks in advance!
Re: 15 month old with stomach virus - when to worry?
Awww poor thing. Have you tried Pedialyte? It's clear so it might sit better in her stomach. DS had a similar virus a few weeks ago and he's low on the weight charts too. He didn't eat for three days straight and we were super worried. It took about a week but it just ran its course. His appetite came back around day 4 or 5.
I would just keep monitoring her, offering fluids and watch for dehydration. If you are super concerned, call the nurse's line at your pediatrician (if they have one) or bring her in. Sometimes that copay is worth it for peace of mind.
