Trying to Get Pregnant

ttc and my period comes early :(

So I haven't been on bc since august because of some complications my DH has been having... we we're having sex so didn't need bc

When the problems were fixed I went to get more bc... then DH  tells me he's ready to start try to have a baby... a little background I have had baby fever REALLY bad for a while now... so we decided to not start my bc...

This past month was the first month of officially trying... since being off bc my period has been on the 22nd of every month... like clock work!!!

Well I got my period on the 18th this month... I know it's only 4 days... but is it something I should be concerned about??? I'm 24 (in case that gets asks)... I just want to know NOW if it's something that could prevent me from getting pregnant or that would make it harder...

  • I find it fascinating that you get your period on the 22nd every month, even though every month is not the same length of time.

    DO tell more.

  • It is definitely NOT something to be concerned about. Please read the newbie link in the green box. Your cycle is not always going to come on the same day "like clockwork", and that is perfectly normal. What matters more is that you figure out when you are ovulating (that ticker you have is useless at predicting it accurately) and make sure your LP is at least 10 days. If you educate yourself a little on how it actually works, you'll be less stressed when things are off by a couple days here and there. GL!

  • Nothing wrong at all. Most people have cycles that vary in length from month to month.

  • It can take your body up to a year to regulate after stopping BCP. I highly suggest you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility. You can also click the chart in my siggy for some help and to sign up to start charting your BBT which can help you know when you ovulate.

Welcome to the board and good luck.

  • If your last period was on the 22nd of October that means your cycle was 30 days long. That is considered "normal". You should read the newbie link as others have suggested and educate yourself. Also, sign up on Fertility Friend and chart your BBT. I used to think the same way as you do. I wasn't "late" unless I started a day after or later than I did the previous month. Then I did research and realized all along I was wrong.

This. As long as you're getting your period fairly regularly I wouldn't worry.

  • ok so I realize having my period on the 22nd really wasn't as clockwork as I was originally thinking... and I really don't know why I did... I watched and recorded my period as always and it was always on the 22nd... weird I know but it really was... Before bc my period was normally around 31-34 days... so having my period come early was just a shock... I thank you all for ur response... I had read something somewhere that if ur period comes early that it could be a sign of not ovulating right...

I'm just REALLY excited that DH is on the same page as me... I know we're only coming up to our 1 year anniversary... but for a while DH was saying that he didn't want to try for a couple years (which is not what we had talked about before we got married) so myself being a kid lover was kinda bummed and then all of a suddenly my DH changed his mind I guess and said he wanted to start trying...

So with that said and then reading that it could be a sign of not ovulating correctly... I just wanted to be sure it's not something that could make things harder being that I'm new to ttc... I really am reading up on all I can... and I realize that my question was a bit overreacting... just wasnt sure what to think at first seeing as I've never had early periods...
