So I think I'm out. Spotting/Lines getting lighter. Anyone have experience with CP's?

This pregnancy has been weird from the start. I didn't get a + until 12dpo and the hpt lines have never seemed as dark as with my son. Today I started spotting and when I took 2 more tests to try and reassure myself, the lines were barely there. I am thinking this is most likely going to end in a chemical pregnancy.

Anyone have experience with lines getting lighter/chemical pregnancies? Do I call my OB Monday? Anyone have good stories of lines getting lighter and everything being ok?

If you had a CP was it the result of an issue with you?

I've had 2 CP's. With both I was getting completely negative tests (wondfo) and started bleeding a few days later. With the first I didn't even realize what the negatives meant until I started bleeding (I thought the wondfos may have been faulty).

I was not in touch with an OB for the second, only my PCP. She wasn't very helpful. When I told her I was getting negative tests she wanted me to go back in to have my betas checked. I was going out of town that day and I lost the pregnancy before I could be seen by anyone.

RPL testing hasn't shown any issues so far.

Does your OB's office have an on-call physician that you could reach over the weekend?

So sorry to hear this. I did have a CP, but I never saw the lines getting lighter (because I didn't test). They ran my hcg and told me it was going down instead of up and I ended up having period-like bleeding a week after I tested positive. It did end up being an issue with me - but I'd had 2 m/c before as well that were also due to that issue and it's not common. My OB said that many women have chemical pregnancies and just didn't know it before because testing wasn't so easily available.

I would definitely call on Monday. All the creepy internet *hugs*. So sorry you have to wait a whole weekend to find out what is going on.

I would definitely call your doctor on Monday. If, God forbid, this is a cp, you'll want it documented on your records.

I've had 2 cp's. I can't speak to lines getting fainter because I never had that. For me, I would have a positive one day, and a negative the very next day. Both losses were at 4 weeks. To answer your last question, yes. All of my losses were a result of an issue I have. I have DOR (aka shitty eggs). However, a cp does not always mean there's an issue with the mother.

Also, @PinkRoses53‌, are your tests all coming from the same box? If I remember correctly you had a faint positive, then a definite positive, then another faint positive during the 2WW didn't you? Is it possible it's a bad batch of tests?

@urani were the tests getting significantly lighter until you finally got negative tests? Did they do any testing after your 1st CP?

I can leave a message and the midwife who is usually on call would probably call me back. I just feel like they will tell me to come in Monday for bloodwork.

My H is being utterly unhelpful. He keeps saying "well you spotted with DS and everything was fine" I told him about the tests and what that usually means and he told me I can't believe everything I read on message boards on the internet. Oh to be an oblivious man...

Yes! That was me which makes this so much weirder.

I really wish they were from different boxes but the one I got yesterday afternoon that was a strong + was from the same box as the 2 today. I even held my pee and didn't drink water for 5 hours this afternoon. Warning: I'm attaching a peestick photo. The one on the bottom is the most recent

I don't know what to think anymore. I have half a mind to get a digital but I dont know if my heart can take seeing "not pregnant" in words.

I don't think I got significantly lighter tests, it was more like one day they were negative.

If I recall correctly, with the first CP I had a positive wondfo one day. The next day I tested with a FRER and wondfo. FRER was positive but wondfo was negative . I only tested with wondfos after that and they were all negative.

I was stupid and didn't call any doctor after my first- I assumed it was already over, what could they do at that point? Like PP's said, you'll want them to have record of it if it's a CP; also, they will probably want to track HCG levels back to zero.

I had my betas tracked and a transvaginal ultrasound with my second. My OB ran a few RPL tests later but they didn't show anything unusual.

I had a CP....had a BFP a few days after my missed period, then got the most angry AF ever that same day that lasted for over a week. My dr was no help....she even said it was just my period and the BFP was probably due to "elevated hormones". Fingers crossed for you

My first CP was this past January. We took the next cycle off and my second CP happened in March. My OB wanted us to wait 3 months after the second.

@PinkRoses53 - I had the CP February 2013 and they did give us the all clear to start trying again right away. We got pregnant with DS that April.

It ain't over 'til it's over. Tests can vary by which lot they came from, concentration of urine by time of day. I know it's stressful, but there's nothing that you can do to change it either way, so try not to jump to the worst conclusion.

I keep telling myself that but I feel like I've been on thebump too long and seen posts like this too often to be optimistic. I wish I could have a glass of wine to relax....I'll just eat the cookies I baked instead

So sorry you have to deal with this! I had a mc at 7 weeks and never tested with that one. Got a positive the next month and then the tests started getting lighter and lighter with a negative then bleeding started a couple days later. Hope this isn't the case for you! Doctors reccomend waiting a few months which I did and then had a normal pregnancy with my 2nd child. It's frustrating to wait. I also went to see a fertility specialist to start looking for any possibly problems. I def reccomend this as reg OB's really only deal with healthy pregnanies and a fertility specialist can be much more helpful if there are issues. Mine also did an ultrasound at 6 weeks to confirm heartbeat which was reassuring after 2 mc! Good luck to you!!

((Hugs)) I'm sorry you have to deal with this. With my CP in May, I actually spotted pretty heavily at 8dpo & thought I had a light period for a couple days, but my temp stayed up so I tested at 14dpo. I started spotting again the next day so I called the Dr. From there blood work showed my #s dropping =(. I started bleeding heavily a week after my BFP. My Dr. said she thought my body just wasn't ready so soon after BCP. I hope you are just having normal spotting & don't have to go through a CP. Sending T&Ps.

Aww hon I am sorry you are dealing with this. I hope the best for you, but I am a control freak and would need to get a digi right away just to see what it said. I do not tend to mess with lines anyway because I do not enjoy ambiguity. I need Yes or No.

As far as waiting, I have not had a CP but did have a MMC diagnosed at 8 weeks that finally decided to vacate at 10 weeks. After making sure I was "all clear" my OB advised me to wait 1 cycle, which I did and conceived my son on the 2nd cycle. That was a super "involved" MC and even with that she said to just wait 1 cycle. That being said, of course your doctor your call, but, I would think you could potentially try right away if this one does not end up the way you hope...

All of those tests are very light to begin with. In my eyes, I don't see a huge difference. I'm sorry your going through this waiting period. I really hope you get some answers soon, and get to stick around.

Nothing to add, just wanted to say I'm so sorry you're going through this! Try testing again tomorrow morning with FMU and FX that the line is darker! Also I'm sorry your H is not being helpful... he probably thinks he's helping by being positive but tell him a big hug couldn't hurt!

So sorry you're going through this. I was stressing myself out comparing line darkness day after day and I finally had to stop. I was worrying myself sick. Give it a few days and test again. Is there any way you could have ovulated later than you think?

Thanks ladies for your advice, kind words and for checking in. I am trying to stay busy today. I took my son to a science center with some other moms from my March '13 group.

I tested when I got back. It was faint, about the same as the 2 from yesterday. My temp was still up this morning.

Anyone have tests that never got darker and it was ok? Although I keep preparing myself for this not working out, part of me keeps hoping it will.

I wish it was Monday and I could get into the dr. Not that it will do anything. I just hate being in pregnancy limbo.
