question about toddler illness

Is it fairly common for a toddler to still have visibly swollen lymph nodes in the neck several days after all other symptoms of an illness (cough, runny nose, fever, sore throat) have passed? Naturally I noticed this on a Friday afternoon after DS's doctor has gone for the evening, and I refuse to pay $200 to have the doctor at the weekend clinic state the obvious...again.

He's acting completely normal and hasn't had any cold symptoms since Wednesday except for the runny nose, which always seems to linger for a few days.

Re: question about toddler illness

  • I don't know about the lymphs, but my rule of thumb is that if he is acting normal, I don't worry about it. I'd watch and wait.

  • If no fever, I wouldn't worry too much.
  • Good to know I can still trust my instincts even when I'm exhausted and overwhelmed. Lol Thanks, ladies.
