I'm 39 weeks and 4 days along. My RCS was initially scheduled for this past Monday because baby was breech, but he turned at 37.5 weeks, so I've been waiting for labor, hoping to VBAC. But due to PIH, my OB didn't want me to go past 40 weeks. So we rescheduled for next Tuesday.
But then my BP was high enough at my appointment yesterday that we decided it made sense to bump it up to this (Friday) morning. I was not dilated at all and my practice won't induce VBAC candidates. I was sad, and scared about having surgery again, but resigned.
Well, baby apparently is as motivated by deadlines as I am. Last night, about 6 hours before my scheduled RCS, I began having contractions. Timing them for an hour, they were 4.5 minutes apart and lasting 90 seconds. When I arrived at the hospital I was 1.5 cm dilated. So we put the surgery on hold and now I'm walking around in early labor, trying to move things along.
Wish us luck!
****************** UPDATED****************
After 32 hours of labor, including 5 of pitocin contractions before the epidural, without progressing past a 4, DS2 was born via RCS. I'm really glad we tried to VBAC. The process of laboring seems to have been beneficial for both of us. He is much more alert than DS1, who never went through labor, was at this stage. He latched on right away in the recovery room and feeds well. I'm beat, but recovery is going well. Thanks for all of your support!
