@pearsforpoops, sleep success!

So I was brave & tried your suggestion of letting LO cry on her tummy with no checks last night. It took 40 minutes which almost killed me, BUT then she slept that way...all night! I feel like I'm not sure what to do now, since we rock her to sleep & I have no clue how it would work to actually lay her down on her tummy, but I really hope she gets more comfortable sleeping that way now! I'm just so glad it worked!

  • Omg...those gifs!! Haha. Thanks lady! Yes oh man I'm so glad it worked too!! :D I'm glad you suggested or I never would've thought to try leaving her that way.

  • Butting in -- awesome news!!! I LOLed at all the dancing gifs. :) Just wanted to share that the same thing happened to us...Simon used to roll on his tummy and cry, until one night he fell asleep that way, and he has been a tummy sleeper ever since. I still lay him down on his back every time, but he pretty much instantly rolls over to his tummy. Hope your LO keeps it up!!

    Hooray for successful sleeping.  Baby boy did the rollover and cry thing for a couple weeks too but now he just rolls over once you lay him down on his back.

    @BoothBaby‌ ok yeah I was wondering how I should lay her down now. We rock her to sleep, so I'm not sure that she would roll over unless she woke up. @pearsforpoops, what do you do? I tried laying her on her tummy just now for a nap, man it's hard to do! She woke up right away though & is in there awake now, so that may not work, haha.

    Chiming in here..I was complaining earlier about LO and her rolling over and just crying.....I now put her in her crib , tummy down. I rub her back for a few minutes and her head and it's been working for us. Of course she has her moments, but she now sleeps completely on her belly.
    If she wakes in the night, she usually falls alseep while nursing and I lay her on her side, then she rolls herself over.
    Could you try rubbing her back and head instead of rocking? LO used to need rocking too until one day I just stopped and she started falling asleep on her own.

    ANYWAY, awesome news for you!!!!!

  • Kahlan rolls over on her own now. And loves it. Only sleeps on her belly. And the butt in the air thing has started too
  • We had to go to no checks too. Day four last night, less than five min of crying. We just put him on his belly now and it seems to work better for him.

    Congrats on the success and more sleep!
  • Congrats!

    We did exactly the same thing for the first time last night. I had been delaying trying CIO because I didn't believe he could sleep on his tummy but I'm glad we finally tried it. It took 30 min of crying (him and me!) but he slept on his belly all night long. I am hoping it gets better every night. He is such a happy baby after a good night's sleep and mom and dad are much happier too.
  • @bty19‌ & @Itothehizzo, thanks for the putting baby on their side idea! I will definitely try that. I did try letting LO put herself to sleep about a month ago, & it lasted about a week but was taking SO much time & was frustrating to me & her so I just stopped. If she gets more comfortable sleeping on her belly I might try again, & do the rubbing/patting like you said.

    I'm pretty freaking proud of myself right now, because even though it was SUPER awkward maneuvering, I got LO down for bed just now, on her tummy, & she stayed asleep that way! Yay! I'm hoping putting her to bed that way will help avoid any waking up all together.

    I seriously hope this happens, haha. I think the butt in the air is the cutest thing ever!

    Its freakin adorable. She just scoots back onto her knees and falls asleep. Then we she wakes up, she immediately starts trying to crawl :)
  • Aww man, she just woke up crying. I guess we're doing this again. :(
