Trying to Get Pregnant

Those using CVS BBT therms....

How long does it take to temp? I am about ready to ditch my walgreens one, after the dumb thing keeps repeating temps (it still caught a rise, but I dont' trust it). I just love how quiet the beep is, and how it's so quick. I also bought a walmart one, but the beep is high pitched, and it takes for...ev...er.

One day, I hope to find the perfect therm *sigh* Confused

  • I have the CVS BBT. I think it only takes a minute or so. I've never really timed it but at 4:30 in the morning a minute can seem like forever. I'm happy with it so far. I questioned it when I first started using it because it seemed like my temps were pretty low but they went up post-O.

  • I have this one.  It usually takes about 3 minutes -- but sometimes if I keep it perfectly still in my mouth it will beep in a minute or less.  And the beep is not very loud.

  • My CVS BBT takes for-ev-er.....The beep is really low, which I hate.  But I guess it does the purpose.
  • I thought mine was a little slow to beep too but thought it was just me being impatient.

I am using a walgreens one. I hated it at first because of the flat temps I got in the first month (totally didn't trust it), but I've come around and decided I'm satisfied. Yes, I realize it's probably not accurate to the hundredths position because I've often gotten 96.76 and 96.80, but never anything in between. It does repeat temps. But, my thermal shifts are still very clear. And the cycle that had flat temps had them both before and after O, but at different levels. So it was actually very clear!

So if you're seeing the shift, maybe you don't need to give up yet?

Yeah, I'm only on my first cycle, and I've had CH twice (got my 2nd pair today after FF had given me a super early pair, then took it away). I know my cycle is going to be wonky for awhile, though, just quit BCPs. My therm seems to like certain temps. Like, it always has the same hundreth within any particular tenth of a temp (if that makes any sense)...so, if it's in the 97.4s...I always get 97.45, never anything else...if it's 97.1...it's always 97.18 never 97.12, etc.

Then again, TCOYF says that it's not important to have the hundreth's, so that makes me feel better. Hmm

  • I use the CVS brand and it take about 3 mins on average. I've been happy with it so far.

  • I just got the CVS one for this cycle, its been good. It takes about 2-3 mins and I think the beep is louder than the Fever Thermo I was using the past few cycles, but its not bad. I like it so far.
