Nowadays @soozerella, I shop with a purpose and a mission. Pre-baby? I just shopped aimlessly. When it comes to shopping for Sophia, though? I impulse purchase most of the time when it comes to clothes.
The perfect white t-shirt is not a one-size-fits-all concept. There is no universally flattering white t-shirt. A Gap basic white tee looks like garbage on me. JCrew though? Buttah.
@cfox815 a T shirt.. not too see through, but not too stiff, the right length etc.. I've heard good things about T by Wang (I also just wanted to say Wang)
Also I wish I was wearing my baby on a beach right now!!! @cagoldi have you been to mother's beach in newport yet?
No! Have you? We're not really beach people. I like going near the beach and drinking at a restaurant on the patio, but hate the sand. Where in OC are you?
@CFox815 StitchFix bills itself as a personal shopper delivery service. You can get it delivered as frequently as every 3 weeks (which I do) or as infrequently as you want.
It is $20 per shipment which covers the styling fee and shipping both ways. If you return everything you lose the $20. If you buy anything the $20 is applied to the price of that item. If you keep everything then you get 25% off the total.
Each "fix" is 5 items. Mine are usually 4 clothing items and 1 accessory. Typically I get a dress, a skirt or pair of pants, and two tops.
You fill out a style questionnaire and tell them what price point to shoot for.
Supposedly the fixes get better over time because you can give feedback about what you like and don't like, but honestly my first fix was my favorite so far.
I usually keep one or two items and send back the rest. I'm trying to only keep things I really need or love. Even though it isn't very expensive I'm trying to keep my closet free of crap I'll only wear once/twice.
@shanbp I looked at StitchFix but I don't think I understand how the billing works. What do you pay per shipment besides the $20 delivery/styling fee?
It depends on what you keep. Say you return four items but keep a $48 shirt. You get charged the $20 when it ships and then pay the remaining $28 when you decide to keep that shirt.
If you send back everything you are out the $20 but don't pay anything else.
Mine should be here next Wednesday - I might just die of anticipation before then! I need to learn how to gif- possibly a stupid question, but I'll teach someone Instagram if they teach me this- where do you find the gifs?
Wearing this little sheer floral number with a pink under shirt today. I picked it up yesterday along with a few others after months of failed shopping trips.
I'm pretty picky, but it always seems when I find one that I like, I find several.
ETA I have no clue why it's upside down again.
I like the maxi, I have one pretty similar. I like chevron stripes, but I know they aren't for everybody. The bracelet is cute. I'd send back everything else, mostly because I just think they're kind of plain. The orange dress is cute, I guess, but it reminds me of something my mom would wear.
@housewifehair I have a layover in Denver August 10 - think you can spruce me up in an hour? At the airport?
I really thought about booking flights with a much longer layover and telling DH there weren't other options, but DS will be with us, and I know I would live to regret it!
I'll start looking into renting a space at Denver International Airport STAT!!!
Crap I just shopped online at the gap and forgot about the personal shopper, they should arrive at the same time, on one hand awesome, on the other, DH is definitely going to give me shit for the double arrival
