She won't stop crying for the boob over and over, it's 1am and I haven't slept yet. Tried everything but she only wants the boob. Falls asleep after a while feeding, cries as soon as I try to put her down. All soothing techniques fail, more boob.
I can't stop crying either. No idea why this is happening.
I fear I am in the middle of a 3 week growth spurt! We went from every 3-5 hours in between feedings to every 2 if I am lucky. It is going to be a long ass night. I already broke down to DH, I don't think my nipples can take it. I had been doing a day on and a day off for pumping to give my nips a break and today is my boob day. I know this will help with my lower milk supply but shit this business hurts!

I understand why many choose formula.
This was us last night. It was the first time I cried in frustration. I think it would be the same if ff or bf'ing. I'm assuming it's a growth spurt. Or it was too hot and he was uncomfortable. Idk. I got a few hours with him sleeping on my chest on the couch. Good luck!
I put W in the crib tonight. First time it's ever been used as an actual crib and not pushed up against my bed. It feels weird but I think she will sleep better this way.
Anyone else have a baby that prefers to sleep on their side? It kind of makes me nervous.

Mine. She is swaddled with a rolled up burp cloth tucked between her back and the mattress so she is side-tilted but not totally on her side. Our pedi told us to do this when we were concerned abound middle of night spit-up.

Maybe try something to distract yourself when it's uncomfortable? I know if I'm not so focused on it, the constant nursing is more tolerable... And when I'm super frustrated I try to focus on the fact that eventually I won't be able to sit and nurse her and be all she needs/wants.

I am trying to distract myself with episodes of pretty little liars . I also remind myself to breathe during the initial latch and to relax my body instead of tensing up, my jaw was starting to hurt from the clenching.

She hates to be swaddled! I keep looking at her in there thinking she looks too small to be sleeping in a crib haha. But we both need sleep. DD1 slept amazing in the RnP for the first 3 months, but this baby doesn't like to be at an incline.
@shannonliggett charlie has gone six hours before with barely wet diapers. I was amazed that after such a long sleep he'd still be so dry. The shorter sleeps he always wets at least. Both times he had eaten beforehand, unlike your LO. I guess maybe its normal but I have his one month tomorrow and will ask. In the meantime, I'd wait and see what tomorrow brings, you may get several very heavy diapers to make up for lost time. Also, charlie tends to sleep a lot during his growth spurts. He'll eat for a day or two, then sleep for a day.
Holy cluster feeding, I have been nursing Aamie for the last 3 hours 10 mins on,10 mins off. My nipples hurt and I'm tired I hope she sleeps for a few hours. Good luck to the rest of you lady's. I'll probably be back though.
How do you tell if LO has diarrhea? She's had what seem like straight liquid poops 6 times in ten hours. Usually her poops have at least a little substance to them. She's almost four weeks and EBF.
UPDATE: the pooping continued so we called in, had a dr visit, and LO has a stomach bug. Now we're watching her fever and for dehydration. Now my mommy guilt sets in for getting frustrated with her and for letting my social guilt take precedence over the weekend and letting tons of people hold her
My LO really needs to wake up and latch, I'm all for 4 consecutive hours if sleep but my boobs are like rocks and I'm not at home so I don't have a pump. My little sister had her baby earlier tonight so I drove the 3 1/2 hours up to see her (I missed the delivery by 2 freaking minutes!). Unfortunately my wife could not get out of work to come with so I am up at my mom's with a three week old and a soon to be three year old by myself. Let me tell you that drive was not fun. I've changed her to try to wake her up a bit but she is not having it. I may have to undress her, these things hurt!
I actually don't mind this MOTN feeding because the last episode of PLL was so good I wanted to stay up and watch the next one (I am soo glad I slept instead) so yay I get to watch at least one episode now. But on a sad note my Chapstick fell on the ground and I am seriously considering having lo unlatch so I can grab it, yes Chapstick addict here, must have it now!
She ended up waking up at 5 1/2 hour mark! And she didn't even finish her bottle before bed because she fell asleep. She had her 3oz and passed back out until 6am. I guess I'm just counting my lucky stars. Maybe she will be like DD1 and sleep through the night at 4 weeks. Here's hoping!
V was miserable Tues night and all day yesterday. She had multiple gross poopie diapers that smelled like death and you could just tell her tummy was bothering her. I figured none of us would sleep last night.
Fortunately the gas drops/gripe water combo worked and she spent all night tooting! They slept from 9 to 2 and then from 3 to 6. Granted I didn't get to sleep the whole time because her toots were loud as hell, but it was better than I thought it'd be! And yay for happy babies!
I had a breakdown this morning after an extremely long night. LO won't sleep longer than two hours. This is the norm, but lately he's been waking up more frequently and I'm exhausted, never catch up on my sleep. My husband normally doesn't wake up much, he doesn't hear him, I don't know how the fuck he doesn't. I woke my husband up and I made him stay awake with me and then i nursed baby side lying? And the baby fell asleep and so did we, for we for two hours. Never enough. I told DH I don't care what has to be gone, we go to bed with LO when he does... This mom shit is hard.
@ rachelnjacob we go to bed when they do. If that's 8pm that's when it is! I don't see the point in staying up till the next feed, I'd rather try to get an hour of sleep in.
I guess there's just always stuff to do and the sleep deprivation is taking a serious toll on me. We need to do an earlier bedtime/schedule because I have to go back to work in four weeks anyways.

Yep! We go to bed at 730-8. Doesn't matter how much stuff there is to do. It's always the longest stretch I get
@shannonliggett pedi said totally normal to go that long with a dry diaper, as he's starting to learn muscle control. As long as he makes up for it the rest of the time and is eating and gaining well, no worries!
Yes what they said. I started going to bed after the 7-9ish feedings and it has made me a happier person. I just started a couple days ago and the difference in how I feel is amazing!

I have no idea when my LO "goes to bed." What am I missing? She just eats every almost two hours or cluster feeds at night for hours ours then sleeps 3 to 4 hours or so in the morning (NOT ideal).

I wonder this too. Mine is just a week old, so we are still in that first-two-weeks period where (I think) you just change, feed, let sleep as long as they can, repeat. But the ped asked us today if she was giving us longer stretches at night and we were like, we don't think she knows what's day and what's night ... I'm with @BMaidPlanner, what am I missing?
@BMaidPlanner and @jjva I think the night aspect, for a baby who doesn't have a discernible difference, would be your actions in making things dim and quiet, doing a bedtime routine of some sort, putting baby down where ever they sleep at night, and hoping at some point it results in longer sleep at night.

I hate listening to DF snore while I have back to back nursing sessions.
