I'm so happy and thankful that I have to share!
I doubt many would remember, but back in March my husband deployed and I was told that he wouldn't be able to come home for the birth. I vented about it, and you all were so encouraging. It meant a lot to me.
Well ladies, he did come home and is sleeping in our bed right now, touching my foot with his bare leg.
Makes me want to cry- I didn't think this would happen, and while it hurt like hell, I had accepted it.
He'll be here to meet our boy and to just be able to support us. DH still has to go back and finish the tour, but he's here now and that's such a gift.
The combo of my elation of seeing him, and some extra hormones thrown into the mix caused the biggest ugly cry I've ever had when we were in bed and I actually "realized" that he was home and I didn't have to keep pretending that I wasn't lonely, tired, and scared.

I'm just sooooo happy that he'll be able to help during the birth and meet our baby when he's a newborn. I still can't believe that he's actually home.
Something funny though, DH is coming from the land of dry, brutal heat and sun, and having to be outside in said weather. Now that he's home, he's having to sleep with a comforter, sweatshirt, t-shirt, and sweatpants because I'm so freaking hot that I keep the room at 68°. He's such a good guy though, he just says that it's fine and he can always put on another layer.
