First appointment is tomorrow at 10:20am EST and I couldn't be more ready. I am roughly 8.5 weeks along and really hope the OB says my baby is healthy! This is my first pregnancy and I am experiencing typical symptoms, no morning sickness, no spotting or bleeding, and overall feel healthy. Asking for prayers and thoughts for me and the little peanut tomorrow!! Thanks!!
Just got back from our first u/s. I'm currently 7w4d and baby is measuring right on schedule. The second I saw that heartbeat I was SO relieved. 162 heartbeat and going back in a few weeks for our second appt. So far so good! Praying for you all and your appts this week!
I had my first appt today. Everything looks great and baby is measuring a day ahead at 7w 1d. Loved hearing/seeing the heart beat that was the coolest thing ever. Makes all this ms worth it!
OMG had our first appointment. Mom dad and hubby were there. Thank god everything went so great we filmed the whole thing. I cried seeing heartbeat which was 162. I measured right on time. Best wishes and prayers for everyone ! P. S. I did pass out after giving blood but I laugh at that. Thank you Jesus !
I have another u/s this morning- my doctor told me to come in because of cramping, and now I'm terrified. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that everything is still looking good and that there's a beautiful 9w4d baby bean growing in there with a strong heartbeat.
We saw our little blueberry yesterday at 7w2d and it's measuring right on schedule. Saw the little flicker of the heartbeat - so cool! The ultrasound machine the doctor was using doesn't measure heart rate, but he said it looked strong and healthy. YAY!
Had my first ob appt. yesterday. Pretty standard. Ultrasound next Tues. I have to say I wasn't feeling my doc. The whole experience felt rushed and cold. I have a phone interview with a midwife today, now that I'm excited about.
Yesterday I had my 1st appointment after our dating u/s. I was measuring 6 days behind, which makes sense since my regular cycle has been closer to every 5 weeks than every 4. New due date is 2/16/15, so I changed my ticker. Pap, urine, and blood samples taken. Lots of pamphlets received about the routine blood tests for cystic fibrosis and downs syndrome and information about saving cord blood.
In this practice, you cycle through all the doctors as you continue visits so that you've met them all. Whoever is on call at the hospital when you go into labor will deliver. Honestly I like this way of doing things because I won't have to worry whether or not my doctor will make it in time, and all the doctors in this practice are award-winners in our area. I go back in 4 weeks for my next checkup and I'll meet a new doctor.
@FlutterOfYoshis that's how my office works, and I love it. I also love everyone in my practice so it's always nice to see someone I haven't seen in a little while.
I just left my ultrasound, and OMG my baby is a total show off! Even the ultrasound tech was cracking up. Baby was kicking and waving and jumping and wiggling- it was so awesome to see! Beautiful textbook growth and heart rate- I was hysterically laughing and crying when we left. This is the first time it's felt real. I'm having a baby!
Just got back from my first u/s! Unable to hear heartbeat but measuring 168 bpm! Dr said it was moving around a bit too so relieved everything is going well. Also confirmed my feb 9th due date!
3:00 can't get here fast enough! Our first appointment is today!
F15 January Siggy Challenge: What I'm Looking Forward to After the Babies Arrive Bringing them both home...UPDATE...The girls are home!!! 1/7/15 after 20 days in the NICU!
Our second appt (8wk) is on Wednesday, taking hubby with me this time! Super excited just for followup and make sure the peanut is doing well. I know our next sonogram will be @ 12 wks, so good to just go in, answer/ask questions and put hubby and myself at ease. Hopefully this fatigue will wear off soon.
Also, hoping I haven't gained like 10 lbs already, since I eat every 2 hrs to keep the nausea away!!
We went yesterday and I have only gained 0.5lb so thats good! Also, the MD used the device to hear the heartbeat and it was there!! YAY! This is first time hubby heard it, so he was really excited! Then we just asked a whole buncha questions, and then they drained me of my blood!! I hate getting my blood drawn!! Then I went maternity clothes shopping!! lol 2 pairs of jeans, few winter shirts!! So excited! Maternity clothes are so cute! Then came home and ate some more lol Sending lots of positive thoughts everyone's way!
PS: 20 weeks is soooo far away.....I don't think I can wait that long to find out the gender of the baby!!
First u/s of the baby was great! Her machine didn't count heartbeat but was able to see a clear strong heartbeat. Baby is measuring a few days behind but not enough to change our edd significantly but it was changed to 2/20 so I will update my ticker later. That was the best thing ever!!!! Seeing my little baby and his/her heartbeat!
Had my second appt today. No u/s but did get a hb on the doppler that was in the 160's and the doc was pleased especially being able to hear it right away. I'm going to try for an NT scan by the end of the month as long as my new insurance covers a bit of it. Since my group works 24hr shifts at the hospital I asked to cycle through all the docs so I could meet everyone.
Hi everyone!!! We had our first appointment today! Had an ultrasound! Baby is measuring three days ahead so I'm 9 weeks today! New fruit for me! We heard and saw the heartbeat at 182! We even saw baby wiggle and saw blood pumping in the umbilical cord! How amazing!?
I also got to be a part of a study where they draw extra blood to try and pull a strand of fetal blood cells from mine! The cells will show the genotype of the baby and may provide useful information for future monitoring of pegnancies so some tests won't need to be invasive. So I'll be able to help a future mama one day! Pretty neat, right?
EDD is still Valentines day! Here's our little Pip!
Had our third appt and ultrasound! It was so good to see baby! (Just one!) Looked so much bigger than my DD's first ultrasound. Baby was wiggling and moving all around (didn't see this with my daughter) and since I was over 9 weeks, they let us hear the heartbeat. Fast and strong (they didn't give us a measure of beats)! Only measured two days off but due date is still 2/6. So excited to tell family this weekend then start to tell friends after.
1st appt was yesterday- nothing fun although the OB did say my uterus is getting "nice and fluffy" ha ha! Due to a "normal chromosomal variant" they found when my mom had CVS 20 years ago I have to go to a geneticist for cfDNA testing, at that time they will also do the NTS. Anyone else have to get cfDNA? I know it's just a blood test but just wondering?
I actually had two appointments on Thursday, 7/10. I found out that my primary OB wasn't doing an u/s until 12 weeks! I was so annoyed. How am I supposed to know everything's ok!? I have to wait that long? I'm sooo impatient. So I started shopping around for other OB's and made an appointment with another office, they scheduled me for the same day doing an u/s and a meeting with one of the doctor's.
So at my morning appointment with my primary OB, they just asked me a bunch of medical history questions and then she let me listen to the heartbeat. I wasn't expecting that at all (they told me they weren't going to do that) so of course, I started crying when I heard the little heartbeat.
In my afternoon appointment they did an u/s right away. I could see the little peanut wiggling it's little stub arms and legs and I could see it's heartbeat flickering. I kept saying "This is so crazy". I couldn't believe it!! It definitely made all of this more real. Based on when I ovulated I was 8w6d when I went. The baby was measuring at exactly 8w6d.... 181 bpm. I posted a picture in the ticker change thread.
So both doctor's put my due date as February 11, but that was based on when my LMP was (5/7/14) I ovulated on 5/23/14 so based on that date my EDD would be February 13.
What date would you guys go by? Should I change my ticker? Or should I just go by when I ovulated which is also how I'm measuring?
I had my first appointment on Wednesday. Doctor said there was a nice strong heartbeat! Also said the baby was smaller than expected, which changes my due date by an entire week, which makes me really nervous. Still don't know why it's so small. But she didn't seem concerned. Also learned that I am more likely to have a c section because there's not a lot of room for the baby to come out. :-S but it was still really great to get to see our baby!!
@BabyMamaCampbell don't settle for the c section so soon. Why did she say there wasn't enough room for Baby to be born vaginally? If there's not medical explanation, keep your options open. I had a c section, not because I was too small, but because daughter was too big and got stuck in my birth canal. Keep faith on a vaginal delivery, it's possible.

Amaryllismagic that looks like a little baby, that is so amazing
We had our first appointment and u/s on Thursday morning. The little one measured right about 7 weeks, had a good heartbeat, and the doctor said everything looks good. I liked the doctor I saw, I think I will ask her to take care of me for the rest of my pregnancy. My partner got to see the heartbeat, and I think it helped him connect with the fact that this pregnancy is happening, even if I don't look any different yet They took five vials of blood and two jars of urine... thorough testing by Kaiser!
We had our first appointment on Thursday and was able to see our little peanut and saw the flickering heartbeat which was an amazing feeling and makes it feel so real!
I measured at 7w4d which is a week behind what I had thought, but I have an irregular cycle so the doctor said it is normal to miscalculate. I go back in two weeks for another u/s because my practice doesn't start prenatal care until after 8wks. While I'm excited to see my little peanut again, I wish the doctor would have sat down and gone over everything with us. This was my first time with this doc and I really liked her but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this and if it's normal practice?
