I worried about how to dress my son too, he was born mid-June. We had AC in his room. We mostly kept him in onesies (short sleeved). It was hot and we were in shorts/t-shirts, so we dressed him the same. During nap I'd put a little light blanket over him if he slept in the rock and play near me. Otherwise, I put him in a sleep sack (with no sleeves). We either didn't use the AC, or kept it warmer than normal, so we'd be comfortable sleeping in there the way he was dressed.
Also, DD was 8lb 5 oz at birth and NB clothes were still big on her. I really think, for most, NB clothes will work, unless maybe your baby is 10bls or more. You could always bring both sizes just in case, but this time I'm only brining a NB.
I am waiting to see what I get at my shower. I have been tempted to look lately, but I know people are going to buy NB sized outfits and I don't think we need many of those...cause it is going to be mostly onesies and sleepers for the first few months. So I am thinking that one of the fancy outfits that we get can be the going home outfit.

I haven't even thought about what to bring baby girl home in! DD came home in a fleece sleeper (Feb baby). DS came home in a fleece outfit with a cute racoon on it (also a Feb baby). August here is usually 5 miles short of hell and hit enough to fry an egg still in its shell. And I've got no idea what to bring baby home in. The ac in my van doesn't seem to be working this summer either, so it will be hot there too. We'll probably do just a dress or something, and when I get home to my cold house, I'll put her in something warmer.
I'll just put her in a hand-me-down sleeper from one of her sisters. No intention of buying anything new at this point. But that outfit you linked is ADORABLE!
We bought DS adorable PJs from Janie and Jack in 0-3 months... When we left the hospital he was just under 6 lbs and was swimming in them. ! Had to put him in a NB onesie
Not sure yet, my little sister really wants to pick out the take home outfit, my mom is helping her pick one that's appropriate.
My younger sister is going crazy buying me baby stuff already. She gave me a hot pink onesie that says "my aunt is my BFF" she wants us to wear home from the hospital... I told her no way!
MIL bought this outfit I'm a sucker for anything with cherries, so this is probably what she will wear home (it's also the only NB thing I have right now)
Re: Coming Home Outfit
Bring 2 sizes, a NB and a 0-3 month.

We just bought this for coming home... it seems comfortable, yet simple, and we had some gymbucks to burn (just the romper, not the accessories)
