Call the company. Ask for someone in HR. When it's through Monster they generally go in a giant inbox, so the call may make them actually find yours and pull it out.

BTW-I've never had any luck with Monster. I've had better luck with CareerBuilder and even Craigslist.

I don't have time to weed thru the crap on craiglist, but I will give career builder a shot! I will definitely follow up on some of these as well, thanks!

I look for the company and search for an HR rep on LinkedIn too. If that doesn't work, I go to the company website and look for an email address on there even if it's the generic "contact us" email. Anything shows initiative!

thanks! I have two different versions right now as well. I'm trying to find a teaching position, but I'm not super qualified for that, and not sure if I will make the money I need to in order to raise the boys on my own. So I'm also applying to some accounting positions since that is what my degree is in. It will mean longer hours, but most likely a bigger paycheck.

I just found out my back up boss, meaning the person I was going to go to for a job first if my job went away, got laid off today. Eek, the downsizing is getting dangerously close. I was really hoping this was going to be a forever job for me but I better start thinking of other back up options.

No idea, it's 'viral' is all I get from them. Yesterday the ER told my doctor they believed it was scarlet fever, which my doctor relayed to me. Well, scarlet fever is not viral, so why send us home with, "it's viral, but we'll call you if you need to come back and do something." Today, my pedi calls back with the results from the cultures and it is not scarlet fever, but a virus. I understand that a diagnosis can not be made without seeing him, but once the ER at the only children's hospital in town sees him, you would think I would have some idea as to WTF it is instead a list of WTF it is not. I hate seeing him like this and being completely useless.

how scary!! Keagan got exposed to scarlet fever when he was like 4 weeks old and I went into panic mode (FTM lol) hopefully Indy doesn't get sick too

No, my boss is working on getting me a promotion because of additional responsibilities but nothing has been decided. My job is safe, so I'm told, through the end of the year at least. But you never really know what direction the company is going to go with the downsizing efforts.

lol, like when the instructions say, "Exchanges within ____ days are free; after ____ days is $7 s&h per item", don't complain to me about a $14 s&h fee, since it's been only like 6 days and it's FREE.

And another. Dh thought the shower was leaking. I thought it was just condensation on the window in the shower dripping down. He resealed the glass blocks. Yesterday he found a mushroom growing on the window ledge outside of that window. Even worse, I found several growing on the wall inside after he mentioned it and I started investigating (behind the toilet). This is going to be costly and a PITA to fix.

We still haven't changed out cable. It really pisses me off that only new customers get the deals. DH wants to cancel our account and then open a new one in my name (it's currently in his), so that way we can get the deal. Is that dumb? I feel weird doing that.

Maybe if you threaten to cancel, they'll give you a deal. I would think they'd go more by address than name on the account, but I might be wrong.

Not dumb. We did this with stupid Time Warner before we said screw it altogether and switched to U-verse.

DH & I used to do that all the time.

ETA - now he just threatens to do that and they give us the deals.

I shouldn't be allowed to complain anymore....but I am going to anyway. My new boss is now trying to vie(sp?) for the new position that is being created for our agency. It is the position that the CFO and two VP's talked to me about when they asked me to apply for my current position. I find it interesting and annoying, but I figure the chips will fall where they may. And she may have actually tried to convince me that I shouldn't go for it because of DH's illness and Luci.

FIL still has not called us back since leveling the news about MIL. I am both annoyed and sympathetic.

So, I am grateful for this but also have a complaint:

I got out of a 2 day work trip to San Fran. Hooray! Complaint: My boss made me dial in to all the meetings today and it's been worthless. I can't hear everyone, there is noise of typing or side conversations, etc. It's been pretty worthless. BUT, I'm not out of town!!

It's these kinds of ridiculous hoops that make me assume most people are just dumping stuff like this in a brown paper bag and putting it in their garbage.

Our town finally started a paint collection day, and I think it's because so many people were just putting half-full cans in the trash.

Thanks @tinyhumantoe . We found out Monday that MIL has been diagnosed with late stage Alzheimer's. We knew there was something wrong and I had gently suggested getting tested for or looking at Alzheimer's but FIL would never listen to me. I am incredibly sad because DH is so sad.

I'm sad that you are driving through! I work like 6 miles from I-70 in Salina!

@Hyaline, that's the same thing I thought! The nice thing about my syringes is that they collapse into themselves and there's no way for them to be reused, so at least if someone would get their hands on it, there's no danger. It's still such a PITA though.
