Ds was a tummy sleeper since his NICU days and they laid him on his tummy under the UV light. Dd prob will be as well whenever she goes to her bed since she wont sleep on her back but has no issues if she is belly down on me
Suuuuper annoying that the NICU does that. They had DS sleep on his belly and his sides while there. So naturally he hates sleeping on his back. Thanks guys...
Who goes to bed at 7:30pm.....this girl (and baby)! I have decided instead of waiting for his 10 or 11pm feeding, why not go to bed now. I think this will make me a happier person for the MOTN feedings tonight, instead of crying in the bathroom like I did last night! Goodnight and see you ladies later
Good for you! Do what you need to do.
I'm the exact opposite. We go to bed at 10 or 11pm then we sleep in until like 10am. Together if it's just us, or with h taking care of lo while I get my sleep in on the few days h actually has mornings off. Lo likes to get up/out of bed by 7 or 8 but we "nap" together until 10.
Im in the stay in bed later camp. Like until 11:30 sometimes....
I always think oh baby's sleeping, so I should try also... Then I get distracted on FB, or tv or here... Then next thing I know, it's time for baby's next feeding. Mommy fail. First pick I really got of LO smiling today.
I need advice ASAP. DF has had an intermittent rash for 5 days now. He went to the we in day 1 and they said it was hives and gave him Benadryl. Tonight it is HORRIBLE - like covering his back, chest, etc. it's red and raised splotches. we haven't changed laundry detergent, etc. He thinks it might be stress related. Would you send him back to the ER?
@elsa1688 if the benadryl helped last time I'd give him a dose now and if it helps I would call your regular doc in the morning. If it doesn't help or it keeps getting worse, I'd use the er.

It was spreading so he's on his way now I hate that he has to go alone but I don't want to take J to an ER unnecessarily

Been going to bed at 730 or 8 since LO was born. I now consider 1030 the MOTN. I am supercool! But seriously it's the best thibg ever

Warning, I am about use foul language regarding my one month old son.
Good fucking lord. You wake me up after only 2.5 hours to eat and all you are doing is chapping the shit out out of my goddamn nipple by continually pulling off and relatching. Stop fucking playing with your food. Wake up and eat or go the fuck back to bed and let me sleep. This wishy washy shit is not cool. Not. Cool.
Have you ladies heard of Groovebook? It's this app that will send you 100 pictures in this booklet for 2.99... I'm obsessed with taking pics of LO and so I have ordered two books.. Well obviously combined with other pictures. Picture development is super expensive and I'll never be able to pay to develop them all before LO is 18.. Lol just wanted to pass along the message.
I think tonight's going to be a long one. W hasn't slept longer than 30 minutes at a time today. Here's hoping there's something good to watch on Netflix!

I wish. H doesn't get home until 730. Then he gets to take a 25 minute shower (he has to shower he stinks so bad but a 25 min shower is ridiculous), dinner isn't until 8 or 830 depending on how cooperative C is. Then I'm back on baby duty because H needs time to unwind and then gets to go to bed earlier than me. Ya know, because he works and sleeps soundly through the night. I'm lucky if I get in bed before 11.
@ricecakes1216 I feel you on the husband showering. DF comes home and between pooping and his shower, he takes a gd hour. Seriously?! I would love an hour to showet
@mrsdbc I feel the same way about both of them! And I don't understand how Elise even got on the show.
@elsa1688 if they even had a clue. I don't even get 5 minutes to myself when H gets home. Tomorrow I'm putting An end to it. I just want 10 minutes on my back porch with a glass of wine.
How do you tell if LO has diarrhea? She's had what seem like straight liquid poops 6 times in ten hours. Usually her poops have at least a little substance to them. She's almost four weeks and EBF.

My understnding was that EBF babies can have liquid poop and it's totally normal. J's have always been pretty much liquid. It's also really rare for EBF to have diarrhea if I remember correctly.
I hate hate hate some people on MC this season @katekat8721 Pretty miss "tippie toes" gets on my nerves since she thinks she is so above everyone, Ahran just...... She's well, 18.
@mrsdbc another mc fan here. Dh and I just watched it tn and I agree. That tippy toes chick drives me nuts, and Ahran is a spoiled brat that needed that reality check from Leslie. Oh, @ricecakes1216 how is Elise still there?! Screws up two or three pastries and that's her thing? We are in the layer camp w putting H to bed. Dh gets home around 730 or so two days a week and would never see lo unless we put him down closer to 10.
Success! An early nap has lead to a non crying MOTN feeding (well me not crying, he is crying a lot). Now let's hope he goes back to sleep and doesn't just hang out for 2 hours like he did last night. But if he does I am watching pretty little liars on Netflix and would be fine watching a couple episodes.
So our AC is either leaking or there's condensation (we don't have a ladder or anything tall enough to actually climb up into the space to see it) and there's water dripping from the ceiling in the nursery. DH turned the AC off so it hopefully won't get worse, but it's so freaking hot where we live that I can't imagine our house will stay cool enough tonight. Ugh.

@rachel8078 our pedi office said it's normal poop if it's the consistency of mustard or the stuff that comes out of the mustard container when you first squeeze it.
@elsa1688 - hope DF's ok!
We had such a good night's sleep over here. A three hour stretch followed by a 2.5 hour stretch with a quick turnarounds in-between. HopIng he'll go right back out after this feeding.
He's 3 weeks old already tomorrow and I'm going to tackle pumping tomorrow, double

Did they figure out what it was? Sending hugs!
They said it's probably an allergic reaction that stress is making worse. He got a steroid shot and that helped clear it up for tonight.
Wow, nothing will make you fly out of bed like the sound of what you think is your LO choking... Turns out she was giggling in her crib and making all kinds of coos! It must have been the near SIX hours of sleep she just had... On her own... In her crib!!! She was being such a happy little thing!
I can't say enough about starting a bedtime routine! I thought at 6 weeks that she was too young for that, but I tried it thanks to the sleeping tips thread and it is truly working! Plus, I loooove that DH is helping so much with the routine and reads her books! I can't handle how cute it is to hear a grown man reading his tiny baby some Dr. Seuss!
@CJnKR2014 she is 6 weeks here in just a few minutes! I thought it was way too early, but we are on night 6 of the same routine and it's really working!
@SarahS11 how old is LO? I feel like my boys being 5w is too young to expect them to go along with a routine
It's never too early to start! We started at 5 weeks with D... no real change yet, but I'm not giving up! We did the bath, bottle, book, bed routine with C starting when he was about 6 weeks and he became the best sleeper ever... still is! Fingers crossed that our LOs start to get the hint soon.
I never get to play in this thread overnight. Do your babies like, eat calmly and then just hang out afterwards? D grunts, pulls off, spits milk everywhere... it definitely takes two hands to feed him. And after he's eaten and burped, he fusses until I get up and walk around with him. No way could I sit and watch TV or play on here, he'd wake up the entire house with his big mouth.
I won't complain though because the boy slept from 10:00-6:30 last night with only one 40-minute wake up. I'll take it!!

UPDATE: the pooping continued so we called in, had a dr visit, and LO has a stomach bug. Now we're watching her fever and for dehydration. Now my mommy guilt sets in for getting frustrated with her and for letting my social guilt take precedence over the weekend and letting tons of people hold her

@rachel8078 I would feel guilty, too, but try not to do that to yourself. It's not like you would ever do that willingly. So many people want to hold DS, I have a hard time saying no, too. Hope she's feeling better ASAP!
DD has been feeding since 4:30 , with only a short break for a quick walk with DH and the dogs, and a 10 minute break so I could scarf down dinner. I think she's finally going to sleep, but I'm nervous about unlatching her and laying her down in her crib in case she just wakes up again. I guess this might be a growth spurt?
