Those with 2 under 2 - Second glider?

So I am not sure if I should get another glider or not for the new baby.  I love reading and singing with DS in my glider, but we honestly very rarely use the gliding feature.  I am debating if I should just move the glider into the new nursery and get a stationary chair for DS's room.  Are any of you just going to buy another glider/rocker?  If not, what are your plans?
I am also thinking I probably won't be rocking my new LO by herself since DS will probably be with me most of the time.  Ugh, I just don't know what to do.  Thanks in advance for your input.

  • We did not buy a second chair or glider when DD was born - just put our original one in the nursery.  DS usually just sits with us in it when we read, and then when he's ready to go to sleep we just read together on his bed.

  • We plan on moving the glider from DS room into LO room. I really am going to miss reading to him and then rocking him to sleep in the glider. We figure we will read to him on the couch in the living room. I hadn't thought of a stationary chair. Hmmmm.

I did not get a 2nd glider/rocker.  By the time DS#2 was here, DS#1 was in a twin bed/big boy bed, and we just sat on the bed with him for his bedtime story.  Or we do story time up on the couch out in the loft between the boys' rooms.

  • We bought a second one. DD is 18 months old and we read to her in it every night. I just didn't want to take that away. Both of our chairs are rocking recliners and we just made sure we could use them in other rooms when they outgrown them.

We are moving the glider from DD's room to the new nursery.  I've been thinking about getting a stationary chair because we also spend time reading to DD in her room, but don't want to spend too much because she'll be about 22 months when the new baby is here.  And she has her PBK anywhere chair, so I'm hoping that after not too long, she'll want to sit on her own to read.

  • We did. I was hoping to keep DS1 in his crib as long as possible. We just bought him a full size bed a few months ago so his glider will go to LO.

Exactly this (except DS will be about 27 months).

We actually did a test run the past week by taking the glider out and we haven't missed it as much as I expected.  He is totally unaffected.  We snuggle up into/next to the PBK chair and read bedtime stories there, so I think we're just going to leave things this way.
