UPDATE Those with babies that won't eat

Sorry mobile won't let me update my original thread. I talked to our pediatrician this morning and she had me contact my county early intervention and a feeding clinic at a local hospital. She thinks he may need desensitization therapy. I'm waiting on call backs from both places.

She didn't say what the therapy would be. She said if early intervention accepts him it would be with a speech therapist but they may need her to label him as failure to thrive in order for him to qualify. While he is not small he had fallen significantly off his growth curve so she said she can do it if needed. The hospital program has all sorts of specialists and even does videoconference therapy because there are not a lot of programs like it around. We are really lucky it is local for us.

  • @kim22 I hope you guys get some answers soon! Our DD was assessed by EI.  The assessment process is a long appointment (I think ours was about 3 hours) because they test for everything even if you only need one service.  (at least ours did) DD was tested for gross motor, speech, and fine motor.   They really are a wonderful program if your LO qualifies and they should be able to come to your home for the sessions.  (ours even offered to stop by daycare and do exercises with DD on my lunch break)
