I'd first buy a house. Around here you can get something nice for 100k or less. Second I'd take DD on a very much needed vacation that included someone who can play with her while I sleep for about 3 days. Ok, I'd take the vacation first because I'd probably need another one after I did the whole house buying thing.
I'd have trouble splurging on probably everything. Except shoes. Good quality shoes are important! But I don't need 15 pair of shoes, either.
Second, I'd split the remaining. One half to invest in a house that is OUT OF STATE, somewhere where BD's mom couldn't find me (I'd even get rid of Facebook for that).
Third, the remaining half of the half, the "quarter", I would split, again, and save half for my wedding. I'd still be penny pinching for it, but I know wedding a can be expensive and $125,000 seems like it would be enough to do what I want and still have money leftover (for, I dunno, the honeymoon... ;D).
The last $125,000 I would put in my retirement fund.
Savings, Tithing, Get a townhouse, pay down debt and make sure my mom was okay. The money that is in my savings I can show to open up a Nothing Bundt Cake Franchise in the town I currently live in and in my hometown. I wish I could franchise a Chiptole in the town I live but you have to have at least 750k-1million in savings for that one. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
First id buy a car, then pay off my debt, then put money in an account for bentley thsn id put the rest into savings for me.
Id still have trouble spending any money on myself. Since ive had bentley i get bad guilt over buying myself stuff. Even if its things i need(ie, school supplies clothes for school) it drives bf crazy that i get guilt over the fact i need new bras but wont buy them

House, pay off debt and student loan debt, put money away for kids, give a chunk to my mom and nanny. I alps live in a HCOL so that too wouldn't go very far - but it damn sure would help a hell of a lot!

Haha. I have never been big on shopping for shoes/clothes. I have the shoes I deem necessary for work (a black pair and a brown pair), sneakers, and a couple pair of flip flops.
It's sad that a million bucks wouldn't go far. It really doesn't, does it? Of course, if you buy a house and pay for it in cash your bills would drop pretty drastically, I'd think.

1. Pay off bills/ Buy a small house or condo
2. I would still be a penny pincher because I live in a VHCOL area and frankly one million dollars would not go too far.
I need to move.
