The I hate money thread makes me feel like I will never go back to being a stay at home mom - those activities are expensive and I have no idea how my parents did it with 4 kids on way less money than my DH and I make.
What is a giftie?
I don't get the point of go fund me for anything outside of medical expenses or fund raisers for races, donations, etc. I didn't realize you can go on there and ask for money for anything. #outoftheloop
Someone on my FB started a Go Fund Me for her leisure trip to San Francisco.
Uh, no
A friend of ours started one for a trip to Disney for her family of 6. She does have a daughter with a disability, but really everyone in the family wants to go and they can't afford it .

I guess I am more amazed that people donate for these things. There are lots of vacations and houses that I want (and jewelry and handbags, etc) but what happened to saving for them instead of asking people to donate.
I understand family dynamics are different, and know adults that still have Xmas lists for their parents, but something about that whole thing makes me squirm.
I'm re-using first birthday from e. Generic animals. I did and will go all out on coordinating balloons, streamers etc.
E is turning 3 in sept and I have ready ordered all the Dora stuff with "pin the mAp in Dora backpack.. And a wall pinup thing I'm using as a photobooth.
I knew some political activists who would start up GFMs for everything. Travel expenses to do speeches at events/protests, college tuition (because zomg, they are so important to the movement, don't you want them to have an education????/??) and all kinds of shit.
I made the mistake of checking my work email and now I'm all agitated about something stupid.
I always regret checking my work email whenever I'm not at work.
One time I didn't, and the water was out and there was an email telling us all not to come in that day.
So now I check just to make sure there's nothing like that.
Being that I work at a college, they're always trying to improve how they notify people of this stuff. Now we get fanceh text alerts.
We have text alerts too, but one time they started spamming about an IMMINENT tornado that didn't exist and scared the shit out of me so now I don't trust them and have unsubscribed.
Hai! I had a dream about bacon last night. DH told me the house down the street was making bacon so I mosied on down there, to a home and people I've never met before, made some really awkward small talk with them standing outside, then casually mentioned their bacon. The guy made me a BLT. Then I toured their home. I woke up totally weirded out. So awkward. And now I've got to put bacon on the shopping list.

DD is two next month. I'm thinking Tinkerbell pirate fairies. Or "frees" as she adorably calls them.
Not a theme or anything, but at J's 2nd bday we did a ladybug release (April) in our garden. It was really fun: the kiddos had them crawling all over their hands. Well, some of them. Some were slightly terrified. My daughter loves bugs tho.
@bay511 I painted a mural of Tulgey Wood in my entry hall. It was awesome. Mad Hatter's tea party decor for the food table. Her smash cake was white with frosting roses, then I did cupcakes with the same white roses sprayed with red food color spray.
No party for her 2nd in October. We'll do cake and balloons at home. The plan is to do her next party at age 5. THAT BEING SAID I look at party themes all over pinterest and dream about pulling of one epic shindig

We did Dora for her second and did a taco bar. It was a lot of fun.
