I swear I'm alive. We just got back yesterday from a weekend in NY and today I spent my first baby free day with a BFF who was up visiting. But I also had my consult with the EI intake coordinator today. In NH, first you have the consultation/parent interview, and they do a series of questionnaires and assessments that then tell them if your LO would need a formal eval by a speech path./educator from EI. Jax didn't even need to be there. Then, if the results of that interview show that one is necessary, Jax would need a 33% or more delay shown in his eval. to qualify for services.
Basically my answers scored me a certain amount of points, and these points totaled put Jax in one of three colored boxes. White box was typical development with no cause for concern. Gray was signs of slight delay with some cause for concern. Black was signs of potential serious delay with definite cause for concern. He landed in the white box for gross motor, the gray box for fine motor, and was one point away from being in the black box for communication, but did land in the gray. So based on that, she did feel Jax needed the formal evaluation. So his will be on July 18th.
Onward and forward! Hopefully we can figure out what our boy needs and give him whatever that is!
