Executive resume services?

Looking for info on how to find a good service for resume work for a vp/senior vp level...someone asked me and I just don't really know, other than asking people you work with which is obviously not always feasible. Anyone have ideas?

There are consultants for executive resume building I believe.

Yes... I am asking how to find a good one without asking around at work...

This place has some pretty bad reviews online?
  • Try your alumni offices, especially if you have an MBA.  They frequently have programs for alumni job searches, and may be able to provide templates or referrals.

    Does it?

My friend landed a $115K/year job through that site several years ago and is still working for same company.  After that my DH joined and had his resume redone.

  • Everything that comes up is about it being a scam but some of the posts are a couple years old and related to their job postings being fraudulent or something. I think this person is looking for something smaller and more specialized though.

Be aware that if you do a search for online resume writers you'll find sites that list the "top 10."  Those sites are maintained by the same companies who own the resume writing services.

We didn't figure that out until my husband spent a bunch of money with the "top rated" service only to end up with a resume clearly written by someone who didn't speak English well and who had crappy writing skills.
Ugh sorry to hear that! Yes- I don't think I'd recommend going with anyone I found purely w/ an internet search which is why word of mouth is important I think, from someone in the field, or an alumni association, etc as someone mentioned... I did do some searching on major business school websites for tips and whatnot and found some really good resources and articles about what to ask& look for, etc, if anyone else is looking for this type of thing.
