Pity Party of One - UPDATED

DD has an horrible bilateral ear infection. It started almost two weeks ago with night screaming. When she woke up she said owie, ear. I took her in and was told they were pretty bad. We find blood in her bed and start on zithromycin. After five days of the zithromycin she is getting worse. I take her back and they look worse. Doctor stars us on cefidime or some weird super med and are told if she isn't markedly better in two days to go back in. That was today and you guessed it, mama hasn't gotten sleep in over a week and baby bug is no better. So today she gets a shot if rocephin in the ass. Can do up to three I guess and we are to continue the orals. Too bad DD is still fricking saying owie, ear tonight when I put her down. My poor baby and poor me. DH and I were supposed to have an overnight date and now he is out without me. Sigh. I'm so scared that this isn't going to fix iteither! I hate shoving all kinds of meds in her. We already do Advil at bedtime, Tylenol and numbing drops if she wakes and last night her longest stretch without crying was two hours. Ugh ugh ugh.

Update: Well she was iffy on Sunday night but still cheerful during the day (minus being tired) so I sent her to daycare Monday. I picked her up and DC said she had refused breakfast, picked at lunch and snacks, only slept 90 minutes and had some mental breakdowns. Not my kid. I called the on call ped and told her the whole sob story and she said I should bring her in AGAIN (F*** me) and that i should also get an ENT consult (duh). Well I did and wouldn't you know she had now ruptured BOTH ears. Blood in both canals. On the upside her eardrums looked fairly intact and not bulging so the pain should be better and she slept well last night for the first time in two weeks. However I am feeling awful that it got that far and dread that it is just going to fill back up again. Thankfully we are due for our wellbaby visit in ten days so we can check then. And I'm going to call the dang ENT, i am so over the crap. My poor poor baby it just makes me sick.

Ugh, thanks guys. Last night was a little better... She didn't sleep much but no major screaming. However her first fricking words to me this morning were owie, then pointed to her ear and said doctor. I'm hoping that she was just thinking about yesterday but who knows. The poor little person needs sleep but thankfully I got a little more than I thought I would. :-)
