We had registered for the Bumbo (not familair with the Bebepod) and we took it off. My cousin works with children (she is an infant physical therapist in NYC) and she commented how she has 3 infants who have severe brain damage from falling back in their Bumbo's on the hardwood floors. I know most people wouldnt leave their kids and walk away, but I was neurotic enough to take it off. Sorry for the dismal news, but just a thought or a warning (if you have hardwood floors through out your house - we do). If you keep do get one, just keep an eye on baby. I am sure you will anyway
I'm not going to use either because I've heard too many horror stories about babies getting hurt in them and also that neither brand is very kind to chubby little thighs.
I used the bumbo and it's awesome! As far as the risks, you just need to make sure it is on a stable flat surface and you are within reach nearby. We used it in restaurants, when we ate dinner at home and just when we wanted free time. They love sitting up and looking around, when they can't on their own, helps keep their nice round head shape and it is also good to help strengthen the neck/back muscles. Don't know much about the bebe pod, but I just always thought the bumbo seemed softer and I had already had great reviews from my friends.
Re: Bumbo or Bebepod?
Neither, but I think this is kinda like one of those? I like that it changes functions over stages:
It's the Summer Infant Super Seat.
