@poppy715 if you could only bring one thing with you to a deserted island, what would it be?
Since I'm assuming Dh isn't an acceptable answer I'll say my scrapbooks/photo albums. I'm really sentimental and love looking at them. I am one of those people who loves to relive and remember the past and all the things I've done. Good question!

@blackbird818 - thanks for the question! That's our rescue, Blue. She's part husky and part hound and came in on the Rescue Wagon. We've had her since she was 5 months old and she'll be four in January 2015. she's a very good pup!
Now one for you: You mentioned fishing this weekend, do you eat the fish you catch? Do you know how to filet them or do you catch and release?
Actually last weekend was my first time fishing since I was a kid. We are planning to eat the fish we catch this weekend. Fish tacos! :-bd we went fishing tonight and just threw em back.
I love eating what I catch/kill. I LOVE deer hunting!! It's resourceful ( wink @BluEyedGirl26 )

@meredithcarole What is your favorite foodie thing to cook, and what is your favorite total non-foodie thing to make (like something from a can or box)?
That's a tough one. My favorite thing to cook changes all the time. I like variety which is one of the reasons I like being a chef. I really enjoy Indian cuisine - the spices are fantastic, so that is fun to play with. I do make a fabulous knockoff version of the Braised Beef Cannelloni that a national chain restaurant used to serve. I only make it for special occasions because it really is about a 24 to 48 hour process, but it is good. My favorite "non foodie" thing to use is boxed cake mix. I usually jazz it up by adding milk instead of water and/or different spices and it turns out almost as good as a from scratch cake with much less effort. I also rarely make roasted chicken because grocery store rotisserie chicken is good and requires no effort.

@laRomana09 quick, you can only wear one article of clothing, what is it?
@mlal78 Do you mean one outfit forever, or literally one article of clothing? Either way I would probably go with a cute but comfy sundress, although if it was literally one article of clothing I might need to go with underwear because I can't stand not wearing underwear. ">
@rrlh10 I know you are low-carbing it. Any tasty low-carb recipe or creation you care to share? I've been trying to stay mostly low-carb with my PCOS. I'm good about 70% of the time.
Do you have pinterest? (**DS is my profile pic fyi**) Here is my low-carb board! I don't have any specific recipes that I like, but we love to grill steaks and chicken and eat them for all meals! We love eating low carb. The benefits are amazing, and we have so much more energy!

@megrae12 ~ Good question. I had to give this some thought. I guess I'd have to say any indulgent and/or processed food, and alcoholic beverages. Due to many reasons I won't bore everyone with, I have an unhealthy body image and I am VERY hard on myself when I'm not eating clean like I "should" be. I've gotten better in my older age, but I still have such a feeling of guilt when I don't eat well and I love food & beverage so much. So give me a big, juicy cheeseburger and I will savor every bite...then feel remorse afterward!

Their both summer shows the first is big brother because 1) the show can be so rediculous sometimes but I get sucked into the drama and 2) I feel guilty investing 3 nights of my week into it, but I watch with mh and occasionally other friends of ours. The other is mistresses the concept of it all is so morally wrong but it sucked me in like a bad soap.

Both of our goldens are rescue dogs, both from RAGOM (Retrieve A Golden Of Minnesota). RAGOM rescued both of them from a puppy mill in Missouri. Jasmine was rescued as a puppy when she was only 2 weeks old, with her mother and 3 brothers. We picked her out of the litter and were able to visit her at her foster's home a couple times before we were able to bring her home. The foster had two Newfoundlands and it was so funny to watch these huge dogs around these little golden puppies. They would wag their tail, hit a puppy, and the puppy would go rolling across the floor.
When Jasmine was 1 we decided to adopt another dog. A volunteer from RAGOM suggested Duncan, so we drove an hour north to meet him. First impression - NOT the dog for me. He was a jumper and I don't do well with dogs who jump up. Within a few minutes though he was as calm as could be and such a love. He played fetch with my DH for half an hour, which won over my DH (he hasn't played fetch since!). We agreed that Jasmine would make the final decision, so we had the foster bring Duncan down for a visit the following weekend and he's been ours ever since. He has severe anxiety over storms and fireworks, this week is always rough for him. He was also abused at the puppy mill so occasionally when he's tired he will get snappy, which breaks my heart.
@TVLily it's spendy but has do many options and lasts basically forever. It's pretty major. My favorite right now is Naked 2. I have all 3 but that one I'm stuck on at the moment.

I sew mostly handbags and zipper pouches. The occasional stuffed animal. I quilt quite a bit, often designing my own patterns, which I really enjoy. Especially baby quilt size - it's just the right size to experiment but not so big it's a pain. Everyone I know in real life who has a baby gets a quilt. While I was in nursing school I used to run an Etsy shop where I sold my handmade items and another Etsy shop where I sold vintage sheets. It actually provided a nice income then. I blog pretty frequently under the same name if you're interested in seeing some of the stuff I do:

@skategirl128 What is the nicest thing you have done for someone else?
Hmm the nicest thing would have to be doing random acts of kindness. I've paid for others in drive-thrus, cups of coffee at Starbucks and weeded my neighbors garden, among others. I also started the neighborhood "boo" in October. I love just trying to brighten someone's day.
Ooh that's a tough one! This might be because I just had it but the byob we had our rehearsal dinner at has the most delic spinach gnocchi topped with tomatoes and Gorgonzola
@qanda2013 Good question! Where in the world do you feel the happiest?
Hmm. I want to say something exotic like a far away beach, but the right answer feels like it's my parents house. There's just so much love and comfort there.
@meredithcarole hmmm I think that would be my brother teaching me to ride my bike one summer. I was 8. He was 16. He ran up and down the street with me holding the back of my bike until one time he let go but kept running and after a while told me I was doing it by myself. It was great. I don't have a lot of memories of us doing that kind of stuff because he moved out when I was 10. So the memories I have of us doing stuff are really special.
How about you? What is your favorite? I haven't been following the thread so if someone already asked just let me know and I'll go look lol.

Megan, I have such a poor memory. I don't remember too many specific instances. My favorite summertime thing to do was visit my maternal grandparents. They had a house on Lake Michigan and we would go up in August. Everyone who owned a home in the neighborhood had done so for decades so I was always the same kids year after year at the beach and they were the children of the kids my mom had played with when she was young. The property had been in my family since 1910. Sadly my grandparents have passed and I think the house will have to be sold as neither my mom or her 2 brothers can afford to keep it as a summer home.

Sadly my grandparents have passed and I think the house will have to be sold as neither my mom or her 2 brothers can afford to keep it as a summer home.

meladoriestar - what is your favorite thing to do when you go home to OC to visit?
We just got back from Cali on Wednesday. (My dad lives in San Clemente, and like you, we used the free room and board and visiting family as an excuse for a vacation. Loved the weather - so much better than in Alabama, where I'm from.)
