The past few times I was in the hospital I was having them but not feeling them. They would hook me up to monitor the baby and you could see the spikes on the monitor where I was having contractions. Then last week when I got stuck under the gate I could feel them in my back. The Dr said it was because my back muscles were already stained/irritated from the accident.
I'm pretty sure I have zero idea what a Braxton-Hicks feels like. Like, I know it's supposed to be a tightening or cramping feeling but I haven't really gotten anything like that.
Prob because I'm a FTM and am like "whut is a baby lol guys"
Maybe they'll be more noticeable in the coming few weeks.
Ditto. Sometimes my belly can feel really hard, but i just assumed it was b/c DD had her back out & that's what I was feeling.
@zoegirl : I thought the same thing but then realized that it's a BH when several of my friends and my doc confirmed the feeling. They don't hurt me, it just gets really solid and tight and sometimes baby likes to "starfish" during them.
FTM. I get them every day a few times a day, sometimes a few in a row. I don't really know how many I get though - maybe 5 per day or so? They're not at all consistent for me, and they aren't painful at all. I think I noticed them more when they first started happening, now I'm just kind of used to that tightening feeling. Plus, it's a little harder to tell when it's BH and when it's the baby pushing up against me with her whole body as she's gotten bigger. I can usually push on my belly and feel if most of it's hard or if it's just a little section and try to figure it out that way.
This exactly. I had one night where I woke up in pain but I think that was due to dehydration.
I get them a lot I ended up in the hospital the 3rd time today, 2nd time I was having some real contractions though as I dilated. They are pretty strong, but don't cause progression, I started out getting them mostly at night now I'm getting them almost all day.
