Trouble TTC

-:- 3T Weekly Check-In -:-

Welcome to the weekly check-in!

Reply to this post if you would like your information updated.  Please post an update at least monthly so I know you are still active - even if your info hasn't changed.  You will be removed if you go more than four weeks without posting.

If you would like to be added or updated, please answer the questions below:

1. What is your name (if you want to share)?
2. When did you start TTC (month/year)?
3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)?
4. What treatments are you doing?

For everyone who is up to date on the above, where are you in your current cycle and how's it going?

If you are finally getting your BFP, please PM me so I don't miss it!  Also this helps me avoid posting an ambiguous BFP if you're not ready to officially call it.

QOTW: I'd love to get away for a bit.  Where is/was your most relaxing vacation spot?

Looks like our Hail Mary IUI#4.. is a BFFN.  I basically called it on Wednesday, but the spotting yesterday means today will be CD1.  I had a breakdown last night, and we decided that we will be doing IVF in late September, unless my cycles run ahead of schedule, then we will do it in late August (due to a trip in late September).  So, that's where I'm at.  We are both pretty sad.

  • @ky29 I'm sorry about the BFFN. Good luck with your upcoming IVF.

I'm still waiting on the results for the genetic testing to see if were doing a FET or not in august. I started bcp Thursday to start preparing for FET. I have Ménière's and for some reason I've noticed changes in my hormones cause me to have spells. It always takes my body about a week to adjust to bcp. So for now I'm suffering from 1-2 spells a day I'll be so glad when my body adjust. I'll be so glad when I'm done with popping pills and injecting myself with stuff.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • @ky29 I'm sorry about your bfn. :( I know the thought of IVF is sad and scary, but I hope you are able to find hope with this option!

AFM, I am still on BCP and start Lupron on 7/7 for IVF #1.

QOTW: I can't think of any specific "relaxing" places because I tend to like the big cities and running around them for my vacations. But for a relaxing place I would say the beach somewhere. I am closer to the eat coast in Fl but would like to spend some time on the west coat of Fl at the beach.

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

    PAIF/SAIF/All Welcome!

  • I forgot the QOTW: the beach anywhere. We try to go to Destin every year. I love waking up in the morning and drinking my coffee on the balcony listening to the waves and sitting on the beach in the afternoon watching the people take walks. The sand is so cool in the afternoon it feels so good on my feet.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • iPutKetchupOnKetchup ugh I am sorry! Good luck with your attempt in not killing meeting with your Dr! I hope he does something good!

I am on CD24 and finally got my +OPK last night I tested on a whim I was pretty much done with this cycle. (all neg opk temps all over the place the lateness of the CD) Considering this our timing was bad since our week has been busy and since I had been getting neg I was working doubles so BD was not done. We did DTD last night so I am hoping it was enough. If this cycle does not take though we have already been in contact with an RE here and I will be moving on from my obgyn. So heres to hoping! (TWW is the worst!)

QOTW: Disney and Harry Potter World I wanna go back so bad. I had more fun and felt more free there then I have in a long time. Its just so happy and a time of innocence that I just never want to leave!

  • @ky29 - I'm so sorry for your BFN.

Two days left of BCPs for me (today & tomorrow).  My baseline u/s and blood work is tomorrow morning.  I'm still on track to start stimming on Friday.  I will be starting with 300 iu of Gonal-F and 10 cc diluted HCG.

QOTW:  I agree with the beach.  Last year we spent time on the beach in California and earlier this year in Florida.  I could sit and listen to the waves forever.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

  • @ky29 sorry for the bfn and good luck moving forward with IVF.it seems very overwhelming and frightening at first, but it will get better and it does feel good to be taking control of the process. My IUI 6 was a BFN. Since we have some time before IVF later this summer, and my cycles are on the short side (range 23-32 days, average 25) we're going ahead with a seventh IUI just for the hell of it... You never know.

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

  • We didn't have the best timing this cycle (only days leading up to and the day of + opk), but we're more trying just to increase our chances rather than going all out this cycle and next. I've been trying lately to take my mind off of IF since we're on hold with treatment for now, and I think our week long camping trip helped put me in a much better state of mind! IF was the furthest thing from my mind all week until the last night - our new camp neighbors had multiple baby bumps and adorable kids running around... brought me back to reality.

QOTW: We hiked in the mountains last week, and finding a private spot on a mountain to sit and stare at the beautiful landscape was about the most relaxing thing I've done in a very long time! :)
Married in 2006, TTC since Dec 2012
    Unexplained IF, Hypothyroidism

  • @ky29 Sending ((hugs)) your way.  I'm sorry your IUI was a bust:(  I hope that you can eventually feel hopeful about a new plan.

@katydid2014 Yes!! So happy for you, good luck with your beta tomorrow!

AFM, We are still TTA but I have been using OPK's just to know what the hell my body is doing.  I finally got a + yesterday on what I am calling CD34 (CD1 was a little unclear with my loss).  In the past I've normally had a 12 day LP, so if that stays the same it should put AF arriving around July 12th.  Not sure what will happen after that.

QOTW:  By far my most relaxing vacation was our honeymoon at an all inclusive in Mexico.  It's the only time we've done all inclusive and for relaxation purposes it was totally worth it.  We did a few things out and about, but mostly we just sat on the beach, enjoyed the waves, alcohol and food.

    Me (29): Hashimoto's, CD3/7DPO bloodwork & ultrasound normal, HSG & SHG(x2) all clear

  • We've been TTC for 14 months and thought we had but it was non-viable. So now we start over. I've had trouble keeping my thyroid regulated so we're working on that. I had a massive pulmonary embolism a few years ago do to 17 years of birth control so I can't take any hormones other then my thyroid, which really limits my options. I'm 36, DH is 38. I really wish I could just run away to the mountains and hide out from everybody!

Hi I would like to join the checkin.
    1. What is your name (if you want to share)? Lili
    2. When did you start TTC (month/year)? June 2013
    3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)? (Lean) PCOS
    4. What treatments are you doing? Clomid 50 mg + Ovidrel

Just completed first Clomid cycle. CD 1 of second cycle today. I knew it was coming because temps dropped a few days ago, so I was actually more sad a few days ago. Now I'm just ready to move on.
QOTW: Probably sounds odd, but being at my mother in law's house. We eat all day, play board games, read and listen to music. No cable there and internet is borrowed from neighbors so we are forced to not use electronic devices much.

    Missed M/C natural cycle 10/2013

    DX PCOS 3/2014

    2 cycles Clomid 50 mg + Ovidrel + TI

    1 cycle Clomid 50 mg + TI - no response stair-stepped to Clomid 75 mg + Ovidrel + TI

    1 cycle Letrozole 7.5 mg + 150 mg Follistim + Ovidrel + TI

  • Congratulations @katydid2014! What a wonderful surprise for you CD12. :)

@pintobean39 I hope you get good news about PGD!!

@aves0708 I hope this time before AF helps you to heal and you are able to make plans that you're really comfortable with. :)

I got BFNs CD 12, 13, and 14, so it's time to give up! Beta tomorrow (Monday).

I'm very interested to know what the office will do to make sure I actually get an IUI and not ICI again with my convoluted cervix.

QOTW - I recommend Asturias, Spain, and especially the city of Oviedo! Plenty to see and do culturally, but the great laidback pace of Spain with cool and lush wooded mountains everywhere.

  • ((hugs)) to everyone

    @katydid2014 congrats!

As for us, we're still on natural cycles with the hope that DH produces at least one good sperm and he gets to where he needs to go.  (haha  yeah right- I've a better chance of walking on water)
DH is still dead set against using donor sperm.  I'm just about done fighting.  We actually spoke to a local foster agency about foster to adopt this week.  Waiting on info from them.  We have a home study that actually is due for renewal so it would just need a little tweaking and we'd be able to take a placement fairly quick.  It's looking like that is the way our family is going to grow.  I hope you ladies don't mind if I stick around here for a bit though, I'm not quite ready to give you all up just yet.

QOTW- my most relaxing vacation was when I went to Amsterdam/Paris after graduating nursing school.  I took myself and spent 16 days just wandering around and seeing the sights and soaking in the culture.   As a couples trip, it would have to be New Orleans.  H isn't one to travel and he stresses me out when we go anywhere for I was surprised how well he handled the Big Easy

    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Congrats @Katydid2014!!! That is a great way to ring in the new year!

I am 10 dpo/dpiui and I tested today and of course got a -. My cramps and hip and pelvic pain is terrible at night and I'm worried that Clomid is the cause if this is not truly a pregnancy. My family and I are about to embark on a 5 week road trip next Monday and I don't believe I'm going to pack the Clomid this time. I was surprised about how painful ovulation was and now this pelvic pain is beginning to worry me.

    QOTW:
We went to a place called Azul Beach in Mexico a couple years ago-a gourmet and all inclusive place just south of Cancun. It was honestly one of the best and most relaxing vacations we've ever had.

@ky29‌ I'm sorry. Good luck with IVF.

    QOTW
Most relaxing vacation spot we've been is any Florida beach. But the best one for us by far was Boca Grande. Spent most of the day there. Was quiet and not much to do because we were a week early for the migration of retirees. That's when things get going. But the tranquility, beauty, and being one of the few people there was nice. Like having a private island.

My parents and sister just came back from Myrtle Beach.  DH and I are wanting to plan a trip.  Right now, the goal is to go to the Dominican Republic with his aunts & uncles in February.  BUT...if that falls through, I may suggest Myrtle Beach next summer. :)

I am between ER and ET at the moment with my transfer on Thursday, hopefully. I was a little disappointed that I only had 8 mature eggs, but I'm glad 5 fertilized since I was a little worried since my DH has severe MFI and he had to go back in there again before we left.

QOTD: Not sure if vacations and relaxing usually go hand in hand with me, but my in-laws used to live down the Keys and we would do absolutely nothing there. Also, the beach in Guatemala in college was very relaxing since it was super quiet and beautiful :)

    1. What is your name (if you want to share)?
    Hi everyone, I'm Sony  :)

    2. When did you start TTC (month/year)?
    January 2014

    3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)?
I had a left salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of ovary and fallopian tube) at age 19.  Then at age 30 I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids.

    4. What treatments are you doing?
I am now started Cycle #3 of IUI.  Doing Clomid 150mg this cycle (same as last cycle).

**Edited to answer the QOTD**  My husband and I went to Kauai last month.  SO relaxing and beautiful!!
    **Formerly EastBayBride508**

    Me 34   Him 33

Me - Left salpingo-oophorectomy at 19 due to large cyst/torsion  and 2 large uterine fibroids found at age 30
Him - Borderline low sperm count (correcting through Fertility Blend supplement)

    Married 8/20/2011
    TTC #1 since Jan 2013
    First appointment with RE 10/2013.
    April 2014 - Clomid 100mg CD3-7.  HCG shot CD10 IUI #1 done on 4/12/14 (CD12) ....BFN
May 2014 - Break cycle to repeat saline sonogram and re-group.  Travel to Kauai 5/7-5/12 (Yay!!)
    June 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD4-8.  HCG shot CD14.  IUI#2 done on 6/9 and 6/10 (CD15-16) w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW .... BFN
    July 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD3-7.  Ultrasound CD12 - 4 mature follies! HCG trigger shot CD12 AM.  IUI#3 on CD13 w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW ....BFN
July 2014 - Repeat ultrasound done to measure size of fibroid - 8x9cm (the size of a grapefruit!) Surgery referral made.
August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

    PAIF/SAIF welcome
