does waxing hurt? Is is expensive?

I'm a chicken and have never had the lady garden done before ... but things are getting desperate. DH refuses to help (he nicked me once and got traumatized) and I can't see jack down there.

what's waxing like? Is it embarassing? I'm not afraid of pain (I have a high tolerance for pain, actually) but would have NO CLUE how to go about this.

I get a brazillian a few times over the summer and deal in the winter. ?I go to a nice salon because I love the waxing lady there, totally worth it at 60 bucks. ?But it does hurt a bit. ?I have not been brave enough to do this while very preggo, last one was done at 15 weeks. ?I have heard its worse while pregnant because of the extra blood flow down there. ?Good luck!

Yes and yes. I would not do it while pregnant if you have never had it done before. Things are much more sensitive with the extra blood flow. Just get out the hedge trimmers and do what you can.

It hurts, but it's not awful, and it's over quick. Drink a glass of wine first or take 2 tylenols, that really helps. You can get a rec from a good friend (that's what i did) or you can just call a random salon and ask them for a rec.

I have paid between $35 and $90 for bikini waxing. I prefer a Brazillian, because they do your butthole hair too.

Emberrasing... it's like getting a pap exam. You take off your pants and lay there spread eagle for about 30 minutes, with your vag in there face. Then they may ask you to get on all fours and bend over, depending on how thorough they are.

Mine is about $55. And yes, it hurts - but it's over in 10 minutes and lasts for weeks. Plus, if I can't handle a vag wax - I'm screwed for childbirth!
